Diaclone/movie commercial blue Ultra Magnus Reissue Toy Festival Excl
ehobby black hot rod c-78b
ehobby clear hot rod c-78c
Magnus is MISB
Roddys are both opened complete
All 3 boxes are in great shape.
Ebays last magnus sold at $600 USD. Seems a bit steep though. N theres no sold roddys to compare to, so not sure whats the tag is on these guys.
Question is open to all also.
Magnus diaclone/movie goes for good money nowadays days for a reissue (it’s so bizarre to me because when they came out, you couldn’t give them away). I’ve seem them sell for about $300-400 MIB. MISB will of course go for a little more.
The clear and black hot rods fluctuate in price a bit depending on whose looking. They can vary between $60-100 each usually, but it just depends since it’s not a very sought after character (toy is great though). I think I got the pair of them for around $125 about 6 years ago if that helps.
Damn had no idea Magnus was that unpopular back then. Thanks for the info
You can get a loose original Diaclone Powered Convoy (which became Ultra Magnus) for 100-200 euros, but it will almost certainly be incomplete. The original version also came with a red parts-forming buggy which was never included with G1 Ultra Magnus, not even the 'Diaclone colours' reissue.
Deathsaurus has arrived
It's taken me over twenty years to realise I've never had the 3rd wheel for Vroom, and my childhood Thunderwing could probably do with Repro Labels, but I kind of like him with the played with look.
Pretender Classics done(ish). Would have been finished years ago but I've had them a couple of times and sold them after convincing myself I don't do Pretenders which I then go back on. Never had Starscreams shell before so that's cool. All Need a few paint touch ups and repro labels in a few cases, but moreso on the bots than on the shells.
Even though it's a Holy Grail for myself, I like the love the Space Monster Kaiju and the two breastmasters. The Kabaya Candy kit (Mk.2) is close enough for my collection and I don't have to pay a leg and an arm for the real thing.
That model kit is great, and had been my stand in for awhile, but I was able to find one that didn’t cost an arm and a leg, and he appears to be in much better shape than most that are on eBay now for a lot more.
This hobby makes me wish I were a lizard sometimes.
I sold all my pretenders & now I want them back.
Does anyone have a little diaclone pilot in your G1 collection?
I'd love one but they are very expensive for what they are.
I do! And yes I think they're worth it, they completely change the Cherry Vanette mold for example into a Battle Suit and elevates the figure away from the "disappointment" of G1 Ironhide and Ratchet. They work very well with the Convoy trailer too.
Lots of fun but not essential for G1 collectors, I am shocked no 3P company has ever released a diaclone driver scaled set of figures though, say; Spike, Sparkplug, Carly and the like.
Four or five years ago, Impossible Toys did Diaclone-pilot-sized versions of Sparkplug and Spike, but I think they are sold out everywhere.
EDIT - wow, it's actually some seven or eight years ago. Here's a review T2RX6 did of the two figures:
Could you explain more please?
BTW, welcome back, haven't seen you here for a while.
I think he means being a lizard would allow him to regenerate arms and legs to help pay for toys, like Deathsaurus, that normally cost such.
