Since Defensor has come up, here’s the US Hasbro release version. It’s unused and one of the rarest pieces in my collection

This one has a Toys R US price sticker and there’s a rumor that these were only sold there back in the day for a limited time.

Well, not to happy rn, I had some foot surgery during the summer. Had a basketball game today, first day back... rolled my ankle within 15 seconds. Oh well some G1 alt modes to cheer me up! 15477848403923501504729168865036.jpg

    Nice - I love giftsets!

I grew up in NE Philly, and there was a BEST/Basco department store in the NE on the Blvd. I recall the store carrying giftsets, and am almost (not 100%) certain that this chain carried the Defensor giftset.

I was reading Ultra Lagmus's excellent thread on G1 ebay abundance and the above part ringed a bell for me. Having lived through the 80's as a little kid I remember seeing lots of Deluxe insections and Deluxe Autobots (during 86/87) shelfwarming. I didn't want them because they 1) weren't on the Tv show, 2) too many other G1s that are on the show to buy. 3) For me, interest in Transformers G1 was dying down because of Season 4's all new cast and AKOM's inferior animation.

Out of all of thee, I was only aware that 4 of them had been re-issued. Where am I not looking that I missed these?

Most of these are from almost a decade and more ago, so not exactly current reissues. Most were also Japanese reissue exclusive. Easy to not be aware if you weren’t into them at the time of release.

    All the best

Because I enjoyed doing it so much, and I still had many G1 figures that didn't get to feature, here's another montage!

Maz, Please can I ask what equipment you use to take your photos? Camera, light tent? I am aiming for photographs about 50 or 60% as good as yours on a £1,500 budget..

Hey Matt, I use a Canon EOS 700D camera, a 120cmx120cmx120cm light tent (bought from Smick.co.uk), I use mostly the stock 18-55mm lens that came with my camera, occasionally a 50mm Canon lens, I also have two lamps with stands...the temperature of which I believe is maybe 5400K? I use Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop for post production....oh and get yourself a tripod!

You should easily be able to afford all of that equipment, and better, for well below the maximum of your budget.

    All the best

Nice find. Horri-bull’s box art has always been one of my favorites from the 88 Headmasters.
