The reissue Bumblebee I opened (bought another one to keep MISB) is pretty poorly made. The arms don't go in and out well, with one having to be completely forced in and pulled out with a stupid amount of force. I expected it to just break, but it didn't. I will have to try sanding/filing down some of the plastic. Wish I wouldn't have opened it and just left the memory of the quality (generally speaking) original G1 figure alone. Certainly has me question purchashing future reissue figures going forward. This figure really is junk.

My Tailgate is good, although his shoulders can angle up and down a little. As I said in a previous post, my Swerve has some issues.

The two Tailgates that I opened were kind of pigeon-toed. I took out the two screws, and removed the right leg, then shaved a little bump of plastic that was there. It made the legs line up better, and didn't seem to damage anything.

The Swerve I opened has that problem.

Try another Bumblebee. The one I opened is really nice.

The only problem I can see is that the front wheel on the left arm kind of rubs on the wheel-well where it is in car mode, so it has trouble rolling. The right arm wheel seems fine. Does anyone else have this problem?

It sucks that there is a pin on the back of this Bumblebee, where the original had a screw, so you can't take it apart. Maybe it will at least keep the arms from getting too floppy?

If I push the arms all the way down the wheels rub against the wheel-well on my copy as well. I just keep one arm slightly raised since this also fixes an issue with the wheels not being level.
I am terrified of the small yellow hooks behind his feet breaking off. I can see a bit of a stress mark on one and I fear pulling on his legs too hard will have that part break off, and as far a I know those are needed to keep his feet attached. One of the arms is also really hard to get out, but I don't think it'll break any time soon.

Swerve's left leg likes to bow inwards, and his arms I have the hardest time pulling out. The white parts they're attached to are also at an angle. There's a stress mark around the left knee on the red plastic too, but that hasn't caused any trouble so far. Also, compared to past releases his chest sticker is upside down, but this appears to be the case with all others in the reissue.

Tailgate by far has the fewest issues besides the leg occasionally bowing in a little if I don't straighten it out. The only issue is with how he's designed: he uses his wheels as heels, which means he has a hard time standing up.

    I didn't get Outback.

These are also my first ever G1 figures to own. Am I a donut now or whatever it is you all are called?

If memory serves you can loosen the screw on the back plate slightly and it should help them slide in and out better.

Not possible on the reissue; no screw to loosen!

I apologize ahead of time for the lengthy post, but in the spirit of Christmas hopefully you’ll forgive me since I have something wonderful to share. It’s only taken 30-some-odd years but I finally have a full set of G1 accurate Constructicons thanks to the new Walmart reissue.

Very nice packaging! Excellent callback to the good ol’ days with the G1 art and graphics.

Love this G1 battle scene on the back. This is a lovely trip down memory lane.

Just look at all the goodies. Comes in a nice, sturdy clamshell. Gotta appreciate that! And now onto the showcase!

A very impressive lineup of bots. These guys are beautiful. Very nice stickers, great accessories, and classic color schemes. Shiny and chrome! Let’s start at the bottom and work our way up.

Mixmaster was the only Constructicon I had as a kid. And I remember him very fondly, but I don’t remember him looking this damn good. The stickers and chrome are blowing me away on all these figures.

Scrapper, usually considered the leader of this band of misfits, definitely has presence for probably being the simplest of these figures. That’s not a bad thing though. He’s still very well designed and solid, definitely has character. The stickers and chrome help too.....ok last time but you get the idea.

Long Haul definitely looks like the muscle of this group. Fitting considering he’s the core of Devastator. He needs to be stocky and robust and a dump truck works well for that.

Bonecrusher just looks amazing. Even the simplistic look of his dozer mode is just so well done. And that bot mode is just so uniquely complex. It’s not a look you would expect coming from his alt mode and that’s part of what makes him great.

    A9551FD4-8633-4666-95F4-AC1AD3F45DA3.jpeg
I like Scavenger a lot more than I thought I would. I thought his power shovel would just be in the way so much. I’m glad I was wrong. It actually folds away quite well and feels good in hand. And he’s probably got the most imposing look of all these guys. Scavenger is just so broad and strong looking. Not bad for a bot with low self-esteem.

Ah, Hook! Fitting that the ego of the group be the platform for Devastator’s head. He literally gives himself a ‘big head’ (clean version). He still looks just as great as the others though, but don’t tell him I said that.
I love that these guys are actually semi-functional too. All of their alt modes mirror the real world vehicle capabilities. Power lifting dozers, spinning/lifting hooks and shovels, dumping truck beds, and spinning cement mixers. They all have interactive playable features. It’s fantastic.
And it actually shows this next part in the instructions. All of the accessories connect to the alt modes to arm them up a bit.

Looks like a cross between Transformers, Mad Max, and Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors. Still pretty cool. Now for the main event.
    CONSTRUCTICONS UNITE!!!

    “Prepare for extermination!”
It’s everything I ever wanted out of this set. This is G1 royalty and another one of my ‘Holy Grails’ I can check off.
    D696E767-2806-4D6D-A738-696E9F75076C.jpeg
Devastator is the perfect beast. You just don’t care that he’s a brick. One look at him would send an Autobot running, he wouldn’t even have to do anything.
    A16C94B7-70B7-4896-A043-CAA7D0AC1A76.jpeg
I know there was a couple variations back in the day (the black hands and different head with the visor, etc.), but I’m perfectly happy with this set as is. Just an excellent Christmas present.
    EFA515CA-1986-4131-8CFD-62BB7C698A57.jpeg
This is just awesome! That’s all I can say.
Everything holds together well. Almost scary tight in a couple spots though like where Scrapper tabs in and the connector piece for Long Haul. Just be gentle, but these guys still feel really solid. The plastic and joints all feel good. So cool!

Very happy to finally have a G1 accurate set of these guys. They were some of my favorite characters from the cartoon. I love how each of them have their own unique design, personality, and engineering. The transformations are simple but incredibly satisfying. The sticker and chrome details are to die for (snuck one more in). These guys are just super fun to play with. It makes you feel like a kid again. Happy Holidays everyone!

Christmas really was all about Transformers when I was 4 and 5. Here's my childhood Optimus Prime (will be making a thread about this one soon to see if anyone else has the same version)

    Welcome!

It's a long story but the Donut issue that only the "elders" can answer.

Speaking of Donut, the word is no longer on the name of this thread. Was it taken off or was I imaging?

So far, I've never found any 84-85 Japanese Transformer Autobot cars with their paperwork in plastic baggies. Do you own any with paperwork in baggies or maybe they didn't come in baggies?

I'm starting to collect G1 figures. I've gotten pretty good deals on a lot. I'm thinking of having show only characters first and eventually moving to toy Exclusive characters.
