I don't see Cliffjumper being MP-45C though, so I don't think they'll release MP-59 before MP-58, which is why I think we can't expect a new mould, but rather a repaint (possibly with some new tooling, but not as extensive as Cliff's).

I agree, but seeing how they did the seekers and coneheads, if depends on how strongly they feel it would sell to get its own number. I'm also looking at like Skyfire and a previously designed mold in this case that's been leaked,and they're more interested in just cutting their losses at this point.

Well never say never with Takara I guess, plus they released MP-14 before MP-13. But I've got this feeling like in 2018 where we got MP-29+ and MP-36+ at year's end, and no other new moulds past Dinobot in August. We could have something similar this year.

 

So you're saying MP-12+D Deep Cover is a sure thing for Dec 29th.

Or did you mean MP-27+B Black Ironhide?

Running out of ideas for possible repaints from the existing moulds. Even the idea of using the MP-12 body again is doubtful aside from some store/convention exclusive. The Coneheads would require quite a bit of retooling compared to the MP-52 molds. but if MP-11 variants includes Coneheads then maybe MP-52 will be the same way. MP-52+T Thrust for December 29th.

 

TBH I would not mind a Hound reissue, minus the problems it had. Or a toy colored version.

 

Well, if the picture with Hoist is true, the figure looks cool... But like Grapple, I don't have interest in the character so I won't buy him

However, I am happy for Hoist fans to have their favourite character in the masterpiece line !

 

Like Generic Purple Seeker??? A repaint, a one-off bot doesn't require them to make two more (Coneheads, Rainmakers, Reflector, Insecticons), a Decepticon, a Season 1 Decepticon, a character everyone loves and remembers dearly for his plucky personality and snappy dialogue? Come on, take my money Takara!

 

Sounds weird to say, but if we get a Decepticon sadly, its probably going to be Soundwave and tapes, unless they do Devastator or Bruticus.

 

I'm thinking along the same lines. Soundwave is gonna probably be a + version. I'm really of the mindset that with Hoist coming at the beginning of the year next year we will have the Autobots from the episode "Master-builders". Perfect segue into a MP Devastator, especially with the trainbots being completed around the same time.

 

Having watched that episode last night, there's a few minibots in there that I'd be surprised to see done over other (more prominent) characters. But yeah, the core of the episode would be 'done'.

 

They could do Cliffjumper, I'm still expecting something to be coming soon from the Porsche license. Kinda surprised that we haven't gotten more Minibots at this point. Things have been kinda slow lately, hopefully after this year we will see a modest pickup in releases moving forward.

I'm wondering if Takara is going to wait until all the Trainbots are released or are they going to tease MPG-07 in the upcoming Generations Book?

 

I mean, if they have any marketing experience at all, MPG07 is a shoo-in for the tot show and/or the Generations book.

But they do do odd things. Hell, they might wait until Raiden is combined before they show their hand, and it wouldn't totally shock me!

 

No....it wouldn't surprise me either. I've learned to keep my expectations low with this line throughout the years. It could help build hype over the summer until the full reveal early next year.

 

I think they'll announce it by Wonfes with preorders opening in October if Shouki is any indication. Ono mentioned in the Yukikaze booklet that he had already started work on the one, but couldnt announce it yet. Since they seem to have a schedule for release, its going to be interesting if they announce God Ginrai, as that is probably 2 releases(Ginrai,Godbomber) would they go with a solo MPG character( Omega Supreme?) for February or start a combiner then. Omega Supreme is probably a release they could design pretty quickly since most of the parts don't really turn into anything. The issue would be the minifigs and how many they would want to include.

Wow, what this list made me realise is that there are now so many MPs that I can no longer remember which figures are which just from their MP number.

I guess this is a good problem to have.
