Not sure why some of you are wondering about minibots being licensed. MP-45 is still licensed despite the chibi alt mode and the rest will most likely be licensed as well. Chibi or not. Whatever they turn out to be, I hope all the minibots at least match and look cohesive as a group.

Calling MP Convoy 4.0 now, MP-1 2.0 shrunken down but made entirely of die-cast this time.

I’m still surprised we haven’t seen a toy deco of MP-44 yet to accompany the MP-36 toy deco. I honestly think it would be a runaway success since it captures the updated posability, as well as the nostalgic appearance of a very well loved toy from a lot of our childhoods. I would be very hard pressed to skip it but I would hope for a Megatron re-issue to go along with it. I think both of those would be really cool and easy fodder for the 40th anniversary. Some might say lazy, but I think they would get voted down by the sales numbers.

I very much want that, and more toy-specific redecos in general.

I have finally decided to buy only Masterpieces and the SG lines.
I just looked at my list of items for 2023 and it seems empty next to 2021 and 2022. I have seven Masterpieces, Tarn, Needlenose and Parkour. That's it. I'm impressed with myself :D

It's a good transition to make - fewer figures, but higher quality and ones you don't feel like need to be constantly replaced by the updated version every 2-3 years.

Same over here. I still have a few vintage G1 figures I want, but the only thing I’m really collecting with TF is MP. I bought mainline figures of the season 3 characters but mostly because they aren’t my absolute favorites and I don’t wanna spend MP money on them. I like having some representation of them on a shelf and what I have fits the bill. There doesn’t seem to be any real urgency from TT to make them in the MP line anyway, which probably sucks for all of you season 3/1986 Movie fans.

I think an MP Convoy 4.0 is likely for the 40th anniversary but based on the original G1/Diaclone Battle Convoy toy and with all new tooling but including a reuse/repaint of the MP-44 trailer and Dianauts Spike, Sparkplug and Carly.

MP Convoy 1.0 and 2.0 went hybrid aesthetic with 3.0 going straight up cartoon. We’ve yet to see 1 based primarily on the G1 toy. I’m talking raised/sculpted details like on the forearms too instead of relying on print/paint/stickers. And since Takara likes to do what they haven’t done before(aesthetically) in the MP line, a G1 toy-based MP Convoy fits that mindset.

A toy MP Convoy 4.0 would be a total deviation from the anime accuracy, so I think that will never happen (and it's better not to happen for the integrity of the MP line). I think an anime Convoy 4.0 could be possible, given that the 3.0 was not so exciting.
For the toy Convoy, maybe they could just do what they did with Megatron and the mp-36 mold

I mean so did Skids, and the "integrity" of the line wasn't exactly affect at all.

If it wasn't going to be like MP-36+ and Takara did suddenly start caring about having a consistent numbering system in the MP line all of a sudden, I could probably see it kind of like the Train bots and that he'd have a new number for either a one-off or a more Toy-like line, but that's now going into massive fan tinfoil hat speculation territory.

Skids is basically a blink-and-you-miss-it character, not the centerpiece of a MP collection.
If it happens, the Convoy 4.0. will be anime style, but with a simplyfied transformations. But i'll put all my fiches on a Toy recolor of the MP-44 with new head and a lot of chrome

Only way a new prime for the 40th anniversary happens , is if they redo Ultra Magnus with an inner bot. They could do a tremendously scaled down toy version Optimus. And by scaled down I mean Skids like, lack of accessories, articulation, paint in comparison to mp44

Surprised no one has mentioned Skyfire's bio, as he's mentioned as only being smaller than Omega and " combined warrior". Might be google mistranslating, but they could be hinting at the next mpg, without actually revealing it. I would guess God Ginrai would be just as big as Skyfire, yes?

I think smaller going by the Masterforce/Victory scale chart and scenes in Victory.

Masterforce shows that Ginrai's core robot is the same size as the other Autobot Powermasters, who are slightly taller than the Junior Headmasters. This is confirmed by the Masterforce scale chart that also shows that Ginrai's robot mode scales similarly to his super mode as a G1 carbot to G1 Optimus, i.e. about to his pelvis, while God Ginrai is a bit taller.
    Ginrai scale (1).jpg

Meanwhile, Victory shows God Ginrai to be slightly smaller than Star Saber (tiny, tiny bit). It also confirms that both Minerva and Saber's core robot are about the same size as Wheeljack (and thus that Ginrai's robotmod is about G1 carbot sized.
    Ginrai scale (2).jpg

If we take this then Ginrai's core robot, despite looking like Optimus Prime, is only car bot sized (MP Hot Rod?). The Super Ginrai mode should be about the same size as G1 Optimus (maybe slightly taller) and God Ginrai should be slightly shorter than Star Saber. And MP Star Saber is shorter than MP Skyfire -- although MP Star Saber is arguably too small to properly scale

Based on these new Skyfire pics, and info about his height, how much taller could a potential Omega Supreme be? In my mind, OS Should be around 22”-24” tall in the MP line, but Raiden has shown that we may be getting shorter versions of typically taller characters. Same goes for any future Devastator. Kind of a drag, and I’m totally putting the cart before the horse here. I guess I should just see what TT has in the cards. It could be a non-issue because they don’t plan on releasing those guys anyway. Haha

From the scale chart I looked at Skyfire only comes up to Omega's waist/stomach. In the interview they said they were scaling Raiden to the H0 train model scale to try and bring model train collectors on board. I guess we will find out when they release the next combiner. 2 years a combiner so end of 2025 maybe?

I'm hoping Raiden is a one-off, just supposed to stand by himself separate from other MPs, but I can't see them making an Omega twice the size of Skyfire.
