Skids makes a lot of sense. They might have started with him back in 2011 due to all of his repaint potential, the iconic status and easy licensing of the Honda City, and bringing him out next year makes sense for the Diaclone anniversary.

But he was barely in season 2, and he was certainly never in season 3, so he's eliminated from fitting all of the clues.

The hood deco is the biggest difference if we're going toon accurate. The current release has the toy design. Dunno if TT would feel that's worth another go...I know I wouldn't bother even if it probably would have been my pref to do it toon accurate to begin with.

At this point... why not say Superion, hence the Aerialbots, could be possible. Visor eyes, unexpected appearances in season 3, possible connection to jets given his references to Macross.

Sunstreaker thinks he's Primus' most beautiful creation, as does Tracks. I never said I agree with them  
I have my own opinion on who they be.  

 

I've missed a few days of speculation it seems. How did we get onto the mystery character potentially being Tracks? And didn't it have to be a character that appeared in S3 also, which Tracks does not?

Or are we just speculating outside of Shins mystery MP?

 

@Lazerwave misunderstood that the new MP could be Jazz or Tracks, don't sweat (he only just came to the thread so is still catching up).

Shin said that the MP he's alluding to has at least two things in common with Tracks (3 things if you count their toys)

Although Tracks was designed by Kobayashi, he still retained a lot of the Hasui-era design signatures. There are a lot of greebles on his arms, legs and hands that weren't on the cartoon design.

I think on a basic level they'd do away with the metallic paint job and go with a regular glossy (or even matte?) blue. It's possible this time around they might even make the windows grey or black to match how they were sometimes coloured (or they'll go even more full blue like 19+).

He'd have a toon accurate insignia on his chest (without the weird black outline they chose), and smaller flames on his hood with no yellow in them.

They could give him an black effects part accessory to attach to his front-gun


If they're willing to remould certain parts (they did change 19+'s shoulder weapons after all), then maybe they could find a way to make his wings a little bit smaller and his overhead guns a little bit bigger. If they're remoulding parts I would love for them to somehow give him deeper elbow bends.


Oddly enough, Tracks was designed from the get-go with a removal face option. Go check out your own copies of MP-25 for a little surprise! Unsure if that's simply to allow them to use the same helmet and change over the faces between Tracks and Loud Pedal, or if it was on the cards for him to have multiple faces (Bumblebee and Ultra Magnus before him had already come with options, so why not?).

They could easily redo the regular face (I think it could do with more definition), and give him a couple more face options, too.

We're not talking about huge changes, but then there weren't massive changes between the other + releases so far, but the changes were effective enough to make them feel like a brand new release.

 

I think the commonality with Tracks's toy is the mouthplate. So mouthplate, pairs well with Prime, and had a small appearance in Season 3. That sounds like a narrow description, but I can't think of anyone that fits.

 

I usually look for the End of All Speculations thread, but I don't think that exists anymore. Plus, I haven't been keeping up with news because I basically gave up on hope for the remaining G1 Ark Autobots being MPs, especially Jazz.
