I think the thing that hurts the Dinobots chances the most, outside of not being A-listers or having lots of desirable repaint options, is their size. If the Dinobots were Carbot size, I think they'd actually stand a good chance of happening, if not already happened...but since you're looking at figures that should mostly be MP-22 size or bigger, especially now that they would come at a wallet emptying price...other than maybe another Grimlock, I highly doubt it.

I think the same. I'm not blind to the fact that those will likely be around $500 AJP discount included if they are ever made. That, and the wait in between each member.

Not to say I wouldn't jump like a screaming fan-girl, because I totally would.

Well, we all said Megs V2 & Sunny would never happen then bang: both in the same year.

Gonna be Cliffjumper, Mirage and Galvatron this year, though. I've consulted the runestones.

I love the dinobots. I would love to see them done but I'm in the camp that nobody but Grimlock stands a chance. And I'd even be ok with a slight retool and size adjustment to MP08. He was a great figure that was done before they had a plan. But also, I thought Fanstoys Dinos looked pretty good, but I wasn't ready to shell out $200 a pop for those. Can't imagine what all 5 from Takara would cost

Knowing that Raiden is coming should be a good way for us to say "if they do trainbots, they will probably do character X". That would be a fine way to speculate if trains were more of a universally exciting thing. Since it's a Japanese heavy form of transportation, those of us in the west can't really use it as any real gauge. The fact that it's coming at all is pretty rad, and maybe TT will be a bit more open to other characters that were risky in the past. As the various casts start to fill out a bit more, they might justify someone like Gears or Dinobots knowing collectors want to fill in spots with everyone, and not just leaders or upper tier characters.

Let's see if we still have Wonderfest. Once I heard they had a couple of cases, I thought about the trains at rush hour. If the numbers continue to rise an event like Wonderfest really wouldn't make much sense.

Given we haven't had much in a little bit, I'd be surprised if we didn't see something at WonFes. I've said before they usually eschew it, but TT has been pivoting to be more of premium collector line with MPs, and WonFes caters to that demographic very, very heavily. On the note of Dinobots, while I hate to say it, I love them to bits but I don't see anyone but Grimlock any time soon. They may do the others as TTMall exclusives, since that would help alleviate the issues, but just like coneheads they may end up poor sellers. I personally would want hard toon accuracy, everyone who wants them all toyetic and chromed out probably already has them via the 3P stuff.

    Exactly!

A very little part of me regrets selling my 3P ones but then again they simply did not do it for me. All that chrome and detail on top of details (more so with GIGA) just meh. If FT were to reissue them with less of all of that, with a more cartoon accurate design, then I'll bite. If that doesn't happen, then I'm going to be Dino-less until TT decides to release their own version (if that ever happens).

You know, people keep saying that TT releases what they deem people from Japan will like first and foremost. But I never, in a million years would I have thought that BW was a popular thing there. Are they really into a $400 (whatever) Barney Megatron?

Takara couldn't top Fans Toys Grimlock even if they wanted to.

I think there was demand but I also think there's also a diehard Megatron on staff as well. We've gotten 3 different MP Megatrons in the last 3 years and they've been well received for the most part. So I think the same guy is largely behind them.

If we do get a new MP Megatron, I think G2(green tank) is next up.

In Figure King it looks like it says new MP products will be at Wonderfest on the 9th. It'll probably be Raiden or a + release, but it's something!

I had never heard of Raiden until this news came out, but I’m very excited to see what they do with such a large figure(s)
