It’s only 11 in the morning here. Personally I will hold out hope for a new reveal for the next 5 hours.

Now to clean house on this rainy korean Sunday to pass the time :)

Folks, we have 5 in the pipe plus +s and any other repaints that pop up. That’s craziness by any standard for inbound releases in this line. It’s likely that we’ll see a little slowdown for a bit, and after this marathon of 4 in 5 months, that’s okay.

I think we probably have to wait until November or December to have any credibility asking for new reveals.

Bear in mind it sometimes takes a while. WonFes is not like a lot of the relatively small toy shows that people see. WonFes is the Japanese figure show, and TakaraTOMY is barely a blip on the map by comparison to Alter, Good Smile Company, Native, etc. who usually have the largest showings at WonFes. Even if they reveal stuff it typically isn't going to be a deluge like most manufacturers.

Takara’s own website listed what would be shown at Wonder Fest, and made no mention of new MPs (unlike similar past announcements).

There’s another hobby show in September, there’s Figure King magazine. I’m not expecting another G1 MP reveal until around the release date of either MP-44 or MP-45, and maybe later.

Compared to 2018 I much prefer the current situation of having plenty of releases about to arrive, even if we don’t know what’s coming further than 7/8 months out.

I wouldn't be surprised if we have another spring/summer MP 'drought' in 2020 much like we had in 2019. I assuem we are expecting Lio Convoy to be released January-March? There might well be a big old gap to MP-49 in the autumn.

Feel like it could be that way as well. Probably Feb or March for Lio, but it could even be as late as April or May.

Typically the summer months have been dead for new moulds, but with Dinobot in July 2018 and Prime in August of this year, there's still possibilities next summer for something too.

Haven't been able to find the exact date for this year's show, I guess we'll know closer to the time.

Would have been nice to at least see the G1 stuff out, but I'm guessing the show in China and Unicron made that less important. Kind of glad I didn't break my neck to get over there for Wonderfest, outside of Unicron and a better look at Lio , there really wasn't much to see besides lower tier stuff.

Ah super! @lord ginrai, always coming through :thumb

Wonder Fest never has panels, right? It's only Tokyo Toy Show that Takara can do a big 'reveal' with an announcement and everything. Not that that's stopped them from revealing grey prototypes (or colour ones) at shows before.

Does anyone know the amount of reveals we've had at different toy shows, and which shows have been the most 'fruitful'? Somebody needs to collate the data!

True...however Dinobot's release was exceptional is so many ways I wouldn't use him as measuring rod...and MPs drop in the very last days of a month I'm considering August Autumn ;)

I'd be happy to be proved wrong of course. I couldn't care less about G1 MPs but a nice big summer release like Rhinox would be really cool.

    Whaaaa August isn't Autumn :lol

Ok maybe in the UK it is ;)

I would guess they'll space out the next BW after Lio Convoy to September and beyond, and if we do get any other new moulds in the first half of the year they'll be G1 related. We've yet to have two back-to-back numbered MPs that are Beast Wars. Though they might slot in Detritus as MP-49 and MP-50 could be BW.

Since Unicron has been in the planning stages for 18 months, makes me wonder what MPs they could've tried to tie in with his release. We just have to get Galvatron in 2020 or 2021, right?

It makes sense that they wouldn't reveal a G1 MP with MP 44 coming out in August so that the focus is on Optimus Prime and to an extent Bumblebee. Personally I would have liked a tease but it is what it is. We should be due a new G1 character soon.

Only if you don’t buy it from a Japanese retailer instead of giving a chain like GameStop $600 to treat you terribly and try to scam you for warranties that don’t do anything ;)
