I don't think it has anything to do with being Canadian... Heck, I'm Canadian and I LOVED GI Joe and (earlier on, I think) He-Man. Transformers too, although I had a long bus ride that prevented me from seeing most episodes (got home just in time for GI Joe at 4:30, but usually missed Transformers which aired before it).

Never even saw Macross or Gatchaman. Voltron yes, though.

And in MOTU's defence, I can't think of a crazier mish-mash of fantasy and sci-fi that existed for us in the '80s, outside of something like Heavy Metal (which was definitely NOT kid-friendly). He-Man and his friends hold a lot of charm, in that regard.

Hey, I mean, yeah, don't get me wrong, here... I'm not saying Devastator is a sure thing, by any means. In fact, if FansToys ends up doing one, I'll probably get it (I'll almost certainly get their Aerialbots and probably the Stunticons as well). I just think that if any one of the combiner teams has a chance, it'll be the Constructicons, and it'd be a way for Takara to really up the prestige level of the line as a whole.

But to be clear, here, I'm not gonna eat my hat if I'm completely wrong and we end up getting MP Snarl & Co., or whatever. :)

Check the Hound thread:D . Maybe a repaint plus. Im game to see Hound next to someone's altmode. If they pull another new mold out of their backside, then we can start having more combiner talk.

Based on those posts in the Hound thread, I'm gonna predict MP-48 Red Sunstreaker. (Although I'd prefer Deep Cover or Dark Hot Rod)

Thought I’d move it here, lol.
Yeah Spinout/red SS is a strong and popular possibility. I’m betting on Tigatron too.

Giving it further thought, I can agree on the iconic status of Devastator. My hesitance in predicting a Masterpiece of him comes from the firm belief it will be at least another five years before they finish the carbots, longer if they add in the Minibots, and when they're finally done there and look to start another set, I think it's got to be the Dinobots. And they'll be another five years. So if Devastator is on the table, it'll be another decade before we see any of him. And that's just too far in the future to make any kind of decent predictions.

I enjoy TTemploy's vague hints. It sounds like the current plan is for MP-50 to not be a G1 character? But MP-49 may indeed be a Beast? Possibility of an incoming Armada MP is growing...

I have to agree with the consensus, I think we see:
Red Sunny for fall/ winter 2019
    Tigatron announced
    CJ announced.

I don't think any of the above happens until summer Wonderfest tho.

If TT ever gets the Porsche license, I think they trip over their own feet running to the podium to announce the pick of MP Jazz. If Cliffjumper happens before Jazz, it's because he's not licensed. Or I suppose maybe because they have issues with the Martini sponsor and/or deco so they do CJ in the meantime, but I think that's rather unlikely they FINALLY work out Porsche's stubborn ass and then get hung up on livery. With the heavy toon direction, they very likely skip the sponsor shit at this point anyhow.

I think Red Sunny goings to be a mall unfortunately an exclusive they save like 29 and 36 +. I guess alot comes down to if they use 45 for a CJ.

Agreed there, cartoon Jazz doesn't have a whiff of Martini about him. The logo is absent, the stripe pattern is entirely different. Takara doesn't have to worry about Martini until a + version, and they don't even have to do a + version at all.

Well the characters were created by a guy working for Marvel, so it sort of stands to reason.

So what with the International Tokyo Toy Show kicking off tomorrow, any moles on the ground (well, underground) for intel?

Time to start the hype train for a new mould-MP that doesn't materialise to set ourselves up for crashing disappointment, folks.

It's part of the toy fair routine here. :D

Moles ... start your engines. o_O

I don't believe in this idea that TT try to finish up one thing before moving onto the next. There's no reason why they couldn't start Devastator before the Arkbots are finished, after all Porsche might still not be on board in the next three years, who knows (no updates on that Jada Jazz).

The only thing @TTemploy confirmed is that MP-50 isn't supposed to be a G1 release (no confirmation either way on what 48 or 49 are).

It could very well be the introduction of a new series, although don't they have that Legends Armada Optimus that they're releasing soon? At this point I wouldn't expect another series coming into the MP line just yet, is it some significant anniversary of Armada's?

If MP-50 isn't a G1 MP, then it seems like they don't care about that as a significant number. The biggest BW names have already been taken, too. Could be Tigatron or Rattrap or Rhinox (probably not another Predacon just yet?).

Detritus may end up being MP-49 or MP-51 (lately they've spaced out the numbered non-show repaints from their original moulds).
    So MP-48...
    Finally a minibot?
A non carbot (like Blaster or Perceptor)?
    Another carbot already?
    An A-lister like Galvatron?

Feels a little too soon for Starscream v3.

I guess v2 Grimlock could be MP-48/49, but that seems really soon for another v2/3 after Prime and Bumblebee this year.

Blaster's starting to make a lot of sense to me, because of the timing of the Soundwave reissue.

At the moment I feel it's soon for a new mould to be revealed anyway. Not when there's 4 new moulds still to come. If anything, it's repaint-announcement time.

MP-39+ or MP-39R (which could be MP-48). Or perhaps MP-19+ Smokescreen.

@TTemploy, do Diaclone homage repaints count as G1 to you? ;)  It could make some kind of sense to do red Sunstreaker as MP-50 considering its historical significance, IF TT gives any thought to "important" numbers.
