When they release a V2 Swipe, would that then allow for them to keep milking that Lambo mode with a......dare I say it.....V2 MP12+  

 

Prime makes a lot of sense, and Bumblebee makes sense considering they can do something different with his alt-mode, and capitalise on it being his solo movie year. While Magnus v2 or Hot Rod v2 would be cool with me, I think they're still a lot less likely for the time being.

They're probably aware that collectors also want new characters (it's part of the reason why they waited so long to redo Megatron). Although a new Starscream seems a given in the next couple of years (maybe even as early as 2020), hopefully we'll get a couple of more new characters alongside Hound!

Sure, a toy accurate version using parts from Red Alert v2 to have wheels on his shoulders - makes total sense. Who knows when and where though! Just remember that every year since their first deal started in 2012 there's been at least one Lamborghini MP. After Red Sunstreaker, they're gonna start running out of options

Couldn't disagree more re: Grimlock. I think the king is defineitely deserving of a v2.0 and I would gladly pay just about any price for it(or any of the dinobots if Takara chooses to do them).

Since the general face shape remains the same between different expressions, I wonder if it’s a question of cost (cheaper to change small details while retaining general outline?).

Also, I wonder if they would look sillier if their chins were shorter in relation to the helmet around their faces.

Imagine Sunstreaker with a shorter face plate on his neutral face. It would leave empty helmet space beneath the face. Alternatively, if the open mouthed faces were even longer it would hinder articulation.

I do wonder if there’s a better way to get around it.

 

Keep seeing people say this and yet I don’t see it? Only problem with his face is that the cheek lines are a bit sharp, and I doubt they’ll look that way in person. Am I crazy?

 

If they make a Starscream V3, I hope he has a better cartoon accurate crown, instead of that flying saucer headpiece.

We're also getting fewer and fewer obscure repaints in the line due to the higher prices, I expect. Takara will sell far fewer red versions of MP-45 than they sold of MP-21, for example, if they even opt to make one at all, because people will be less willing to spend large amounts of money on nonessential characters.

Nothing current about the chin fetish, check out Animated and Prime. We're in year twelve of the chin fetish, I reckon.

Yeah you're right. They're relying less on repaints now, they're simply charging more for the initial release. Especially since most of the two/three-use moulds are already done and dusted (Prowl, Ironhide). The difference between Trailbreaker and Hoist will probably be even greater than the mere 50% parts that were shared between Inferno and Grapple.

You're mixing up Microchange red Bumblebee with Diaclone red Sunstreaker, aka CR-01.

 

Actually I wasn’t lol, for some reason when he said red MP-45, I was thinking Sunstreaker.

 

Don't tell anybody, but I already have all the Dinobots...and they're even mostly the right size. Swoop I'd prefer to be larger, but hey, it beats the Swoop we'll never get from TT.



Surprised nobody has mentioned Wheeljack+. Mine showed up from Amazon.jp yesterday. Honestly, it's not as wonderful as I had imagined it in my head. He's kind of bland looking in both modes...which I sort of expected, but the chest just doesn't line up with the toon so what should be his colorful focal point ends up a couple tiny blips compared to the character model...and it ends up mostly blue from the windows due to the real life proportions. I dunno, I saw pics so I'm not shocked by what I received, but I figured I'd get it in hand and judge it from there. If I were doing it over, though, I probably wouldn't bother.
