A figure like Lio Convoy would take the pressure off others like Airazor and Rhinox that don't have an obvious redeco. Beast Wars does need to pull its weight in the redeco side of things, so bots that have multiple redeco options will make up for those that have none.

 

Dinobot and Megatron don't really have a lot of repaint potential. You have Grimlock from diningD and... Maybe T-Wrecks from Megatron? Grimlock I can see happening, but T-Wrecks? Idk about that.. maybe they could do + versions and do you versions.

Okay, so a crash course since apparently people don't understand Japanese all that well.

Watashi is a neutral or feminine "I / me" when writing. "Watashi wa Vaikyuko desu" would translate to a polite "I am Vaikyuko." Ore (pronounced orr-ay) would be more masculine and assertive. Boku is similarly masculine. There's no hidden Grimlock message, half the Japanese characters in anime use that specific word without any issue. There's tons of different ways to say it. I don't know what the Dinobots say in Japanese, as I've literally never watched Japanese G1, but I imagine it would probably be "ore" and for Grimlock specifically "ore-sama" (as in, masculine, assertive, and citing self importance).

 

I was just wondering if Grimlock typically spoke in the "Me, Grimlock" style in the Japanese dub. So now both Lio Convoy and Grimlock 2.0 have been debunked as pertains to this cryptic text?

Well, I'm hoping to get a decent deal on TT MP-10 once there "new' MP Prime drops. Whenever that will be. I may get the "new" Prime, but I want to get the darker blue Takara MP-10. I know they reissued it at least twice, I just never got around to it and then *poof!* they're all gone. I still love that mold.

I wonder when or if TT will ever get around to Hound, Mirage, Trailbreaker, or Cliffjumper? So far we've gotten and will get:

I gotta ask.. why is it that you refuse to accept thatv this is a new prime? Do you just want an MP10 so happy that you can't see there's nothing in common between the prototype and MP10? Every time you post about it, your trying so hard to convince people it isn't a new design, it's starting to seem like the only one you're trying to convince more is yourself. I didn't believe it at first when it was just a sketch, but this prototype being shown next to other Masterpiece figures kinda solidifies that it is, and the lack of any reused parts between it and the image pretty much confirms there's nothing going to be common in parts. Judging what we know so far, based on the sketch, the only thing that would be left would be the thighs. So why would they stop there, and not just... Make new thighs?

Sorry if it feels like I'm singing you out, it just intrigues me that you don't seem to even want this to be what it is obviously going to be.

 

I for one am excited for a new Prime. I have two MP10s and while they look cool, the articulation is very limited in my mind. He just does not hold a candle to MP36, or most of the 3Ps out there. If he looks great, has better articulation and some fully articulated hands, I will likely pull the trigger, price dependent. I only really need one OP in my collection, I am hoping this V3 turns out to be THE one.

 

It'll be THE one... until the NEXT one.

 

I still have MP1 and this new Prime won't be forcing MP10 out. Regardless of styles they are still great toys and I'm sure this new version will be excellent as well.

 

I feel that Takara has learned that some people prefer the toy version of an MP and are willing to go 3rd party to get it. So going forward I strongly suspect we will get both toy and toon versions of each MP. Maybe not all, but I definitely think the odds are much better now. I believe a toy Sunstreaker is inevitable now that the parts have been revealed on MP-42. I personally prefer toon but I’ve been buying Diaclone/toy doubles to display in alt mode so I’ll most likely buy both. But toy Megs to me looks horrible so I won’t be getting that one. And I really want toy Shockwave but his price is really making me pause on that one. I really hate the Takara-Tomy Mall exclusive pricing. It forces me to buy outside of Japan and rapes my wallet. MP-29+ will cost me over $300 Canadian. For comparison I paid less than $230 Canadian all in for Megatron!

 

The thing is, I don't think Ultra Magnus shifted all that well, despite how great it is. I picked up mine early this year long after the release for a decent price. This says to me that there was still plenty of supply left, given how long the figure had been out.

I'm not sure the economics of a + figure would make sense.
