I'm pretty sure that either Terrorsaur, but particularly Tarantulas would be ridonkulously complex and have many a panel and pocket that things roll into. The spider mode has one giant ass, and that's gonna have to hold most of the robot.

Waspinator would be cool, but I'd rather see Terrorsaur. Give that guy a good toy finally. And he has just as many repaint options, if not more. He'd be a good investment for Takara at this stage.

OK, haha - maybe Scorponok then? Although, he is probably way too simple. His transformation is basically to lay down,

I'd totally be down for Scorponok! Cartoon accurate cyber bee that can attach to probably chest! Maybe it can come with an additional face plate for primal that's would work with that idea, too? And maybe the virus that almost took out Rhinox?

Checking in, after noticing Cordon's price on AmiAmi and TTMall. I am surprised that BBTS' price actually is accurate and not their usual jumping-the-gun overpricing. I don't tend to think remolding is the reason for a roughly 4000 yen increase (Artfire & MP-40 got Targetmasters and didn't even shoot up that much, let alone others with new tooling), so I'm guessing a shorter print run? Makes sense if Takara wants to get smarter about how much of an audience things actually have, and it's retail release so it's easier to re-release if they want to/demand actually surpasses supply. I wouldn't count on a third Sunstreaker at retail though (not that I think many are at this point).

I'm still a bit surprised Cordon isn't following Shadow Panther's route as an exclusive. I know "one and done" mold offerings at retail haven't been the norm, but if we're seeing diminishing returns on certain things, that would seem to warrant a release plan as an exclusive.

With SG, at this point I think it depends on how much Takara wants to honor the original source material, and particularly the mold choices FunPub made/was stuck with during the SG run.

If they want to keep as close as possible to what molds were used, G1-esque stuff could work, so Cyclonus, Hot Rod (assuming a Black Rodiumus redeco doesn't just use a similar deco anyways), Soundwave & Blaster + cassettes, and Stepper (plus Thundercracker & Ravage since they're homages to other things as well) could be done. Grimlock, I think, depends on whether they care that the mold used was based on Pretender Grimlock or not. As for Bumblebee, Jazz/Ricochet, Sideswipe, Blurr, Starscream, Megatron, and the others that used Unicron Trilogy molds? I think that'll highly depend on the applicable Unicron Trilogy toys getting MPs.

If they don't (or, specifically, Hasbro Asia doesn't) give two shits about mold accuracy, than yeah MP-12 into SG Sideswipe could happen as some keep thinking. That said, it starts to get into Classics-ish territory, and I wonder if that matters. Cramming a deco slapped on Armada Wheeljack into MP-12 is much different than making a SG Prime without door arms from MP-10.

So it's the average collector-oriented toy line then?

That makes sense. Assuming V3 Prime is next year, it actually being MP-50 or something close to that (48, 49, 51) angles closer to end of '19, but it being MP-47 or even earlier could turn '19, as you say, into a repeat of '18.

Quickstrike. Talk about simple transformations. Articulated scorpion legs would be fun though .

I think BW Megatron won't be getting released to next year. I'm thinking Mar -May with the new Prime squeezing in the beginning of the year. I want to say being the anniversary figure this won't be part of the usual MP numbering system rules. The sneak peek listed it as a project set for the beginning of the anniversary so we could see Prime whatever he is in Jan-March pushing BW Megatron to later. I don't think it will be that space time between new molds as will probably see one of the carbots we should have got this year or some player to be named later to capitalize on the excitement of Prime, after BW Megatron.

They mentioned in the SS interview that the Lamborghini mold is a popular one with fans and Sunstreaker's repaints are probably pretty popular diaclones. I'm not surprised one of the repaints got a general release, more surprised the first one was the police car. Counting Clampdown and Deepcover, that's a lot of police car lambos.

I think the next Predacon will be waspinator. Just thinking because we got both primal and Cheetor, Megatron should have his bumbling sidekick. Batman got his robin, No Heart should have his Beastly.

The only question is, if this prime is a new mp comes out Jan/Feb how much of a space do they put between it and BW Megatron, Especially when they could possibly be going Shockwave->Megatron->New Prime?-> by itself is going to be a lot of greenbacks. Its going to leave little space money wise, but I don't want too big a wait, because I seriously don't want a redo of this year and wait 6 months for MP-44

Extremely unlikely V3 will release anytime before summer unless we see his prototype before Sept.

I'm guessing that was the translation of the Japanese from @Xaxis post. May explain why we havent seen anything but repaints, they've been focusing on this.
