So question, when was the last time that Prowl and Wheeljack were reissued? I'm looking to replace my KO versions eventually, but don't want to pay the U.S store prices. Any news of upcoming reissues for those two in the near future?

 

I think that at this point, unless they do a + version for some reason, they probably aren't going to be reissued. I could see a + Wheeljack if Takara starts doing new Dinobots, but Prowl is pretty much sorted for characters that he'd team up with on the show.

Both can be picked up for a pretty respectable price if you keep an eye on eBay or the Trade/Sell boards here, so that'd be my recommendation for you.

Agreed. I think with the toon direction of the line now,your best bet for any sort of reissue is a + release version

If we really are getting a G1 guy in Fall '18, I wouldn't expect a reveal until the very end of Dec or early '18, based on Wheeljack and Tracks' schedules.

 

Ah still remember that silhouette tease of Wheeljack the day after Christmas 2013! Of course we already knew he was coming thanks to BBTS, but I miss those Hasui tweets (*tears up*)

 

Fits in perfectly with a Blaster reveal on the day his first two cassettes come out!

 

Can't answer your question, but I do really hope we get an anime edition Wheeljack soon. Red Alert was juuuust enough different to get me to purchase it, not bothering with Sideswipe. Wheeljack really stands out like a sore thumb to me though, for not matching animation these days.

So hopefully soon, or whatever passes for soon in Takara-time, heh.

 

Did anyone get a hold of the generations book for this year? Only thing that has been leaked thus far is an interview piece alluding to a possible BW megatron in the future. Was wondering what else was in there as far as news or insight into the plans for the line?

 

Having a Wheeljack + released in the huge gap next year would be nice. Since it doesn't use a new number, they should be able to do it anytime.

 

Right now I'm putting my money on TB/Hoist for our next reveal in December/January. That mold could lock in at least 2 G1 characters for 2018. With enough tweaks to each one you won't feel like your buying the same figure twice. One in August and the other in Nov/December and that's it for G1MP 2018.

So 2018 will go like this

APR MPM-5 BARRICADE
JUL MP41 DINOBOT
AUG MP-42 TRAILBREAKER
OCT MPM-6
DEC MP-43 HOIST

TB/HOIST will be 200.00 each and everyone will lose their minds for about a week. By October we will have reveals for Blaster and Waspinator.

And I paid $110 shipped for grapple from Amazon Japan, I expect hoistbreaker to be that much or slightly cheaper.

 

G1 wise, Anime Wheeljack, TB, Hoist, and 1 of any of the remaining Diaclone cast or Galvatron would be a solid 2018 for me.

I'm not super interested in Blaster, beyond getting cassettes - probably because I think the KFC one is so well done. If Takara does one I'd still likely swap it out, but pick up KFC's Doubledeck. It's a real solid toy.

 

I can foresee end of 2018/19 being more like the end of 2016/17:

Some release in September 2018 - either Blaster, Trailbreaker/Hoist, or an MPM.

Some release in December - either Hound/Mirage or Trailbreaker (with Hoist to follow in February)

Some small BW release in January '19 (Rattrap)

Some big G1 release in April '19, probably Galvtron to coincide with 2019 being the 20th anniversary of the movie in Japan

Throw in a + release in November (Wheeljack or Soundwave)

MPM new Bumblebee in November/December too, maybe. Plus the usual random repaints and there we go.

 

the 200.00 was kind of a joke for TB/Hoist BUT I wouldn't be surprised if he is at least the same price as inferno or a bit more like what kibble said.

 

I mean like Inferno, Grapple, Megatron, Sunstreaker, and Dinobot. All the new releases are seemingly more expensive than past figures of the same size.

 

I haven't gotten ask the way through the rest of the posts, so if its been mentioned.. well... my bad, lol.
