That would be a great 2018! Two BWs, HoistBreaker, Blaster and cassettes, Ghost Screamer, some "plus" releases. With Galvy on the horizon for 2019. I'd only substitute Black Ironhide or Black Hot Rod for Slicer.

Yeah, I fully expect Rattrap next, then Rhinox to complete the original Axalon crew. Then BW Megs as another big-ticket release like Dinobot.

I love BW Inferno. Really hope he gets made over the less interesting Terrorsaur and Scorponok.

Weeellll..... it's true, there have been less-popular G1 characters made as MPs, but they've always been repaints of other characters. The molds had been made, Takara was just getting more use out of them.

Who will be the Jazz of the Beast Wars character set? Takara has yet to show a willingness to finish any character groups outside of the named Seekers so why would they rush to finish the original Axalon crew?

 

Agreed- it’s frustrating. I have been wanting Jazz, Mirage, Sunstreaker, TB, and skids for a while now...Although for beast wars at least we have decent generations stand ins for Rhinox and Rattrap for now

This is a fair point too. The beast wars cast, even if you count the various incarnations of each character, is relatively manageable compared to the ‘84-‘85 set.

They’ve also avoided tipping their hand on repaints for BW other than Supreme Commander Primal. Cheetor hasn’t been redone, even a heavy retool for the ol’ Big Cat or a Shadow Panther. It may be that they’re saving on licensing and only planning 1 mould per character. That might explain some part of Dinobot’s price too.

 

I can not imagine that they will not do at least a Dinobot repaint and at least 1 retool. I also can't imagine that a Shadow Panther isn't in the works. Commander Primal and AKOM Hotrod are great IMO, but TT are willing to do very obscure repaints. They have got to do the obvious ones too. One would think.

 

I'll call it right now, MP41C Code of Hero Dinobot in 2019. Battle damage deco and resculpted parts, shattered golden disc and stone axe accessories, maybe even a snake and a Neanderthal. And instead of a stand, that funeral pyre contraption from the last scene. EPIC.*



*The fan weeping over another $250 price tag, that is.

 

I heard Takara Tomy is having issues getting the licensing for Rhinox. Something about rhinoceroses not wanting to be associated with war toys.

 

 

Nah, his rock hammer will be the Asia exclusive accessory, like Primal's flail mace.

That MP Dinobot looks amazing. Just stunning.

I know there are people out there like "ugh, finish G1 already!" And I get that, I'm definitely a G1-guy 1st & foremost, but c'mon, these MP Beast Wars are pretty next level. And I honestly think that there are so many great engineering tricks in the BW MPs, cleverly designed bits that bleed in the other MP lines as well.

That said, can't wait for MP Sunstreaker, and we ARE overdue for new MP G1 news. LOOOOONG. OVERDUE. And I feel they owe us several. I kid, of course. Still.

 

Oh yeah, I'd love to see a MP Scorponok! He was always one of my favorite S1 Predacon designs.

 

I’m a G1 guy as well. I also love the BW toon and figures. I look at it this way , the MP is entire line of figures. I buy the BW not only because they look cool and totally am in love with them , but I also hope that my money goes to support the next figure in the line . ( hopefully a G1 character ) . So it’s all good from my point of view.
