IF this is true (and that's one giant IF), I'd be saving some money. I was never a Headmasters fan and am unfamiliar with Artfire. Heck, I'm not even a fan of Inferno. I just bought him to pair with one of my Red Alerts.
I would happily buy a Stepper, from the Jazz mold I believe we will one day see.

2017 is already expensive with Megs, Starscream re-release, Cheetor and Grapple ( still on the fence about him).

 

I'm guessing they may use parts of Grapple's legs in order to further differentiate him from Inferno without needing to mold new body parts.

 

That's rather subjective. Point is he's sought after and his only other toy thus far was also an exclusive.

I'll admit I'm shocked about it (if it's true) as it's been quite a while since TT bothered reusing a mold a third time at retail.

I'm pretty sure Delta Magnus has the same head as Ultra Magnus. He has two additional faces with slight retooling but the two yellow eyed ones are the same as Ultra Magnus.
I agree though; there's no reason they'd alter the head as it's already quite toy accurate. Most of their tooling budget I'm sure will go into the targetmaster and if need be some adapter in the wrists to accomodate it Headmasters anime style as well as some alt mode storage.

 

So that provoked a more... vehement reaction than I was expecting...  

They could go the Sideswipe/Red Alert/Tigertrack/Clampdown route, switching helmets and faces around. But I still doubt Artfire will have the standard, unchanged Inferno head, because, well, Artfire is not Inferno. He's going to look different, I'm positive.

LOL. Well different is possible, swapping parts, sure. Brand-new's a bit different than suggesting part-swapping.

 

Yes I think that is the most significant thing to come out of this rumour. Makes me more confident that a Jazz is coming since they can do the repaint of Stepper with Ricochet.

 

This got me to reconsider Grapple. I think I'm gonna cancel my preorder. Inferno is good enough for me. I really don't need an orange or purple/red repaint.

Could TT use this mold for an Onslaught? Him I would buy.

 

When do you reckon we can expect news on Tigatron? I know he's not definite at this point so I'm just snowballing here.

 

I guess the MP Ginrai rumor was a misinterpretation of LG God Bomber.

 

Underwhelmed but it's a cue to jump on mmc Trailbreaker at the very least.

 

One thing I wonder is if Artfire's Targetmaster would be reused for Fracus on a possible MP Scourge. There's technically no reason for them to make Scourge a Targetmaster but they COULD do it.

Artfire was only present in the comics, right? I cannot remember seeing him in the cartoon (Season 1-4 or The Headmasters)?

I'm in for this. Love the deco and the target master.

 

It's just great to see TT pump out these figures at almost one a month. Repaints, exclusives, and the flavour of the month (currently beast wars) included.

Only if you plan on using the targetmaster mold for something else? The targetmaster just opens up more options. I would love me a MP Triggerhappy, but the way they are going all out with accessories some of the moviebots could have target masters.
