The Jazz's head sculpt is incorrect if you refer to some cartoon character setting, not to mention its head size is too tiny to fit into its bulky body. It this is real MP Jazz, I'll be very disappointed.

I obviously don't know if it's real or not, though I do recognize some of the filtering. I can say, however, that the head size itself isn't too small if you compare it to one of the Datsuns - I'm holding Smokescreen right now - and would have a similar transformation.

And I reeeeeeaaaally like the Datsuns :D

    Have fun, all!

Honestly, after looking through the guys Facebook page, I think it's just a 3D render he made.

Is it because they're perfect toy representations of loved and iconic characters? Cool. I agree :)

Yup, the face size/style looks remarkably in line with the Datsuns and the Lambos too which is why it really wouldn't surprise me if this is an older Hasui design.

I agree that it looks a lot like a Hasui design. If this is a 3D render, the artist did a great job replicating his style. I also agree that it could actually be an older Hasui design.

Or possibly a newer one? Ah, speculation

    Have fun!

Well, we are expecting MP Jazz's transformation to be pretty much the same as the Datsuns, right? I mean, the waist wouldn't twist, but that's pretty much that, right? The feet would be the part I'm the most interested in. The Datsun brothers have the rear of the car as feet, but Jazz's drawing has more "normal human-ish" legs with the back of a Porsche on them. If they do it similar to the Datsuns, the leg/feet would look "off," I think.

I doubt it, especially with the toon being a design priority. Jazz will have to solve the problem of no door wings, and no wheels on the shoulders.

I think I figured out why we're now getting mini die cast figures with upcoming MP's. Makes me think the stage is being set for something big for these "die casts" to scale with... Omega Supreme???

That's an interesting idea. It looks like Omega Supreme would be roughly 3x the height of Optimus Prime, minus the tracks on his back. Do we know how tall the die cast figures are?

    Have fun!

Jazz should be MP-40 because he was always playing those "bottom 40" hits on his stereo system.

I'm anticipating about an inch, however, that doesn't mean they aren't for saaaay omega supreme' rocket mode... Imagine an omega supreme between 18 and 20 inches (a little over twice the height of mp-10, and appropriate if he's going to be the same height as a hypothetical Devastator) who's arms could form a rocket for these little mini-figs to ride in!

I've always felt city-bot characters should get their own scale, separate from the scale established by MP-10. It's the only way to get them into the MP line. They just need to figure out who to start with, and that figure will set the new scale. Maybe make Omega Supreme the height of MP-10, so Metroplex is the height of Magnus or Star Saber, or even bigger?

Hmm, BBTS lists the OP mini-figure as 1.5" tall. I don't think a 4.5" tall Omega will satisfy anyone.

I count omega as more of a gestault than a citybot though, his primary nemesis was Devastator after all.

Ehhh... No doubt they would technically get their own scale, according to the cartoon anyway, but I think they should still be substantially larger than MP-10, for display purposes.

As long as they more or less kept the same ratio the old G1 toys had - maybe a touch larger - I think most people would be satisfied. they have to *look* bigger in relation to the other bots; sure, if you got out your ruler and calculator, they'd still be way out of scale, but for the purposes of a shelf collection, it'd be acceptable.

Think of it like the USS Flagg, in the old GI Joe line. Scale-wise, it's TINY, but it still works for most people, because it's substantially larger than the rest of the vehicles.

An Omega Supreme the same size as MP-10 would be a bad idea, I think... I can't speak for collectors on the whole, but for my part, I would almost certainly pass.

Every time someone brings up MP city bots I always think back to the Masterpiece contest that gave us Star Saber. Fortress Maximus was one of the options and I always wondered how they would have scaled him if he won.

I also wonder if they would have went with Cerebros or Fortress for the head.

Cerebros, due to the Japanese Headmasters cartoon.

I believe he's about the same size range as Ironhide-Optimus, so that'd give you a good idea of the likely size... No doubt he'd be huge, but still potentially doable.
