Aw, did they finally end it? I can’t tell you how many times I had this on while working — I’ll be sad to see it go.
Dude, if you were in Singapore I would definitely sell the figure to you at cost. The thing is this import shop I’m dealing with is really slimy and the chap will take whatever opportunity to make a quick buck. Here’s an example: 1. Open PO for item 2. Collect deposit for PO 3. If item is “hot”, and he would hold back stock. Then he will label them as “early” stock and charge his current stock higher. 4. If the item is “hot” and he makes extra, he doesn’t mind returning the deposit. Because the current selling price will cover the deposit, which he has to return. Other shenanigans, is he will insist on seeing the “original” receipt. Sounds fair right? Here’s how he operates: if a customer loses the receipts the deposit is forfeited. Recently, I witnessed a customer claiming he lost the receipt. Here’s the kicker: the shop owner was the one who informed the customer that his item had arrived. The dude promptly told the shop owner, he will treat the deposit as a “donation” because he can get the figure at a cheaper price : even if he includes the forfeited deposit. The look on the shop owner’s face was priceless - me and the other buyers were sniggering at the latter. ...yeah, that’s how slimy the shop is.
Posed my Classified Coco more to try to get a feel for just how regal and pompous I could make the bastard look. You may ask why should Coco pose that way but why the hell not?! Discovered that the lower torso has a thick piece of PVC that covers the ab crunch and flows to the coattails. This is so it doesn’t break the sculpt of the coat as much(it would’ve looked weird if it wasn’t there, as if Coco has an exposed mid drift). However it pretty much killed the ab crunch. Was kind of getting annoyed by how the left shoulder pad would lift up when I was posing the left arm. Since the entire face is covered by a battle mask, you’re pretty much left with the articulation to make Coco more expressive, or at the least try to. So Coco could’ve been designed to pose better. Out of the 4 Classified figures I’ve handled so far, Destro has been the most fun to pose.
If Snake Eyes we’re alive today he would most likely be using the B&T APC9. It’s actually being used by the Army for certain security detail.
What makes the APC9 stand out to you? It doesn't seem to offer anything the MP9 or P90 already do and arguably better. It sounds like you might be suggesting that since the US Army has them he would be issued one. I do agree that the general concept of the weapon, the "intermediate assault carbine", does seem like a good fit for Snake.
@Dark Jedi @Legate @Mr H I've never fired the 5.7 in anything, heard convincing arguments for and against. So I'm neutral on the p90. In this golden age of sbr's I think a modern snake eyes would go with something firing a rifle round. Maybe a suppressed 6" barrel ar in 300bo. If he had to prioritize one hand firing I think the mp7 would be the king of the hill. Something with the magazine in the grip will balance better than magazine forward of the trigger. The submachine gun and pistol caliber carbine do seem to be diminishing in their usage in the military and police world.
I’m basing my preference based on how the APC9 looks like the weapon that the 1000Toys Snake Eyes came with. I usually go with how he’s portrayed in the current ARAH run, but this is a new Snake Eyes (Sean Collins) and Hama had listed him using a Micro Tavor in one of those issues.
Based on my knowledge & experience I think most operators having the best gun is the one next to me mentality. Sure they could special order something high end, but more than likely they will just stick with what works, like a Glock. SIG Rattler in 300BO!
Aesthetics aside, my advocacy for the P90 stems primarily from two design elements: the magazine and the bullpup arrangement of the gun. The magazine not only lays along the spine, eliminating the potential for snagging the magazine by it also offers a 50-round capacity. Other arms require elongated or drum mags to offer the same capability. Along the same lines, the bullpup arrangement of the gun means that the barrel is actually over 10 inches long, improving accuracy and range without protruding. With barrel extensions or attached suppressors that only enhances effectiveness.
So I got this Target catalog in the mail today and it shows some Joes in it. I couldn't help but laugh at the fact that Target thinks their stores carry GI Joes.
Pretty sure this is what happened to me too. No email, the order was just gone one day. I'll have to hunt one down somewhere.
