So I started delving into the world of unofficial 1/18th scale figures to add to my collection and my first foray is a figure from Joy Toy over on BBTS. Problem is I snapped the shoulder joint. This isn't terrible, they offer replacement joints in the package in case of breakages, but I've never had to remove a joint before and I have a few questions.

What is the best method to remove the small broken fragment from inside the upper arm? It sits relatively flush and I want to know if anyone else has dealt with this issue before, how does one go about removing a joint? Online tutorials just mention heating it up, but my problem is, if I heat it up, will the little piece easily fall/pop out with the aid of gravity or will I need some kind of extra tool to pull it out delicately so as not to damage the socket?

And should I heat up the replacement joint to pop it in effortlessly or with little difficulty?

    Thank you for your time.

I know you’re there - I just figured the shipping here was a fair fee to secure one without having to hunt one down at release:(

In fairness to the Uzi, the MP5 WAS designed nearly 15 years after it. That's a lot of service history to observe and use as a basis for improvements.

Not from work. I haven't even taken a pic of the figure, yet. Will do it tonight if it helps out. Not sure if I can get a good clear shot of the part inside the arm though, my camera isn't that smart.

My first thought is to drill a tiny hole into the fragment, screw a small screw into it, put the whole thing into boiling hot water, grab the screw with pliers and pull and pray.

Agreed and the Uzi still was a great weapon in the early 80's. Probably second only to the MP5. I just think the best should have the best. My head cannon is that it was easier for Snake Eyes to one hand the uzi than mp5 in the event he needed to pull the sword. Modern day Snake Eyes has to be mp7. The movies got that right.

If we're talking the best for the best, he oughta be carrying the FN P90.

If it’s good enough for Jack O’Neil then it’s good enough for a G.I. Joe!

Anything other than the classic Uzi doesn’t look right in Snake Eyes’ hands to me. Yeah, I’d take an MP5 all day but I’m not a comic book fantasy ninja.

You and I are of the same mind, haha. Besides I'd rather have a respectable member here get my money than some rando on eBay.

You know, in an interview, Richard Dean Anderson mentioned that he genuinely dislikes guns but he loved shooting that thing.
