Yikes...didn't realize the splitting hands and feet were a thing with some of the older figures. Yeah, fuck that. But the o-ring hips would give me the feelz...provided they use decent material...

Forgot to mention, I would be very tempted if the retro line(if using ARAH molds) has Snake Eyes V2. Mold was lost or destroyed in the 90’s. Hasbro intended to bring it back when TRU brought ARAH exclusively from 1997-1999 but they instead subbed in Snake Eyes V1.
It’s only with the comic pack o-ring figures. Some of the translucent Shadow Ninja figures from ARAH 94 were prone to thumbs cracking off but those are the only breakages I’m aware of aside from ARAH figures sometimes having corroding o-rings.

Yeah, I think I’d prefer that too. If they could replicate the look of the vintage fairly closely without having to use an o-ring, that would be great. The o-rings inevitably break down over time. They’re easy enough to replace, but as a MOC collector, I’d prefer not to have to worry about them breaking apart in the packaging, over time.

Same here. I bought a MISB 2000 Locust(desert repaint Dragonfly) which came with Wild Bill. Awesome toy except for Wild Bill coming out of the box in 2 pieces due to the o-ring. I think I got this in 2011.

Absolutely. Hasbro re-used the v.1 Snake Eyes enough in the 2000’s (with the wrong waist to boot). Hopefully the retro line has the v.2 (which also means Hasbro is recreating molds) which is simply the more iconic figure for that era.

Saw the GI Joe power panel at Walmart today. Since Pulse has already charged me for Destro, I left him there even though I really wanted him now.
I did grab a Duke, though. I initially was going to wait and possibly buy him later on, but as one of the two Dukes in the power panel had really derpy eyes, I figured that I might as well buy him now when I can be guaranteed that I like the eye paint placement. Don't want to have to resort to getting him online, where there's no way to know how your paint apps will be.

Found one lone Duke but no display at my local Wal-Mart today. He had a few black marks on his face and since he's not the one I'm most interested in purchasing this wave, I left him on the shelf. Hoping the display shows up soon! Really wanting to get my hands Destro and Roadblock!

I’m interested in the idea of retro re releases, but from recently going back to some 25th era figures, I really miss ankle artic (forward/back and rocker). Although it’s super impressive that that (and wrist I suppose) are the only major articulation differences from those 80s toys.

Honestly, I think the person that stocks the toy aisle just put them out randomly. Duke was on the shelf where the Ghostbuster traps are supposed to go. No trace of any other 'Joes at all.

Ankle hinges started with 25th Joes but ankle rocker articulation only got implemented on some of the Retaliation and later 50th anniversary figures. Another big difference between modern(2007-present) joes and the o-ring figures are the double jointed knees. Hinged wrists started with POC.

Saw Government Issue Josephs today, at Walmart. Snake Eyes was the only one gone.

While the Joes may never again reach their 84-88 peak, but it is damn good to see them at retail again. I really hope everyone gives this line a chance, I am loving what they are doing so far.

    Same.

I went to mine but didn't see them, But I distinctly did not pick up Snake Eyes, Roadblock, or Scarlet online so I can have the thrill of the hunt.

I wanted to do the thrill of the hunt, but honestly I have missed out of some stuff I wanted due to that. I preordered them from BBTS and have had them for a few weeks. That said, my Snakeeyes had a slightly loose torso, so I may track one down to have an extra and to buy one at retail.

It’s going to be cool to go into Walmart at some point and see Transformers, GI Joe and MOTU on the shelves together, I just wish it was ToysRus instead...
