Yeah, if it were any other character, I'd prefer the darker but the lighter version suits Cobra Commander to me a lot better.
^Exactly this. The earlier Marvel comics and the old Hasbro commercials had him with the much brighter yellow accents. Yes it's ugly, but it screams "gaudy colored Joe designs" to me and give me the nostalgia feels. I'm in for both if the whole purchasing process of the exclusive hopefully isn't a debacle.
I'm just happy both come with a pointing hand to order troops around. I like both version so I'll be getting both (or try to anyway, haha!). Worse, I'm looking to get two so not sure how I'll pull that off.
Im starting to think the darker is better, too. Whenever I look at the promo pic, I think his pistol is a golden flute, like Willy Wonka.
This cobra commander design really isn’t working for me. I know I’ll probably get it, but the shape of the helmet is a bit odd and the rest of him is just so ... gaudy?
Hmm, so the only figures remaining to be seen are the Alley Viper, Red Ninja, Storm Trooper and Baroness. Wouldn't be surprised if the helmet gets retooled with the sides cut out to match the ARAH look. The sculpt is already there, the curves match, just need those side flaps cut off.
Yeah, Resolute was a fantastic update helmet for example. This one looks like they wanted to do something "different" for the sake of being differernt.
Shit!! Storm Shadow stole Batman’s gauntlets. The Red Ninja is a red version of Snake Eyes costume. All in all I do like the way Storm Shadow looks. Maybe a bit relieved they totally didn’t jack up the design. It’s pretty much the V1 look just teched up.
Wow, if those figures look like the promo art, I might just have to wait. I didn't buy into this line to get a bunch of ugly Mortal Kombat figures. Hopefully they'll come with some classic heads or something.
