Helmet resembles the Neo Vipers from ROC
i can see it @Shin Densetsu
Looking at Scarlett again, I think the main problem, at least for me is that she doesn't even look like a GI Joe character.
I think she needs more MILF and less Fortnite Nancy Drew...
I think she'll be the weakest one of the wave but I'm still going to get her. I'm planning on painting her boots all one color.
Just noticed they gave her red bottoms. "These is bloody shoes"
The crossbow and knives alone put her above Roadblock and Duke to me.
For whatever reason Duke is my most anticipated (besides Destro).
If Roadblock just came with Ma Deuce I'd have little to complain about. Easy fix though.
Really Roadblock isn't drastically different from ARAH
i'll give Heavy Duty's weapon to his cousin.....it worked for Crossbones
I can’t get past the headsculpt. Looks like old man Will Smith to me.
did anyone back that Action Force kickstarter? i'm seeing a lot of figures that could compliment as fill ins, more firefly, heavy duty, dreadnoks, all kinds, take in a few ML and you could potentially have one heck of a GIJoe & Cobra collection really quick
The only thing holding me back from these...is the belief that they will eventually do more accurate RAH versions. I just can’t get past that thought.
Of wave 1, Snake Eyes and Destro are the definite winners for me as far as visual design.
I like Scarlett, Roadblock, and Duke. I don't mind the armor bits on Scarlett because at least there's a visual continuity with them being on parts of the costume where there is yellow so the gold metal blends in a fair bit. As far as visual logic, her armor pieces make sense since they're on the torso, forearms, knees, and lower legs. It makes sense to me.
What I don't understand is why Duke has only armor on his boots and knees and Roadblock only has armor on boots and one knee. I suppose one could say Roadblock's vest has armor plate inserts but the point is that the visual design choice of where those two toy designs have armor just seems odd to me. I also am not a fan of Roadblock's heavy weapon.
Despite my criticisms of Duke and Roadblock's designs, they're minor in my eyes and I've had my pre-order in for wave 1 for a while now. I'm a fan of GI Joe and I'm simply happy that the toys are making a comeback. I'm going to do what I can to support the toys by speaking with my wallet. As I see it, it'll be hard to see more classic style designs made if the toys aren't selling well so my hope is that these sell well enough so that Hasbro sees reason to put more reason to invest in producing GI Joe toys in the long run. I just hope the Snake Eyes movie toys are good.
Same here. I'm really more partial to the classic looks, or if ever to some of the more realistic looks they had going in POC. Not really interested in the bright video-game-y look of Duke/Scarlett/Roadblock.
despite being huge, it was a really awesome toy line and I enjoyed all the figs i purchased, i wasn't able to get the full group but i have a few. Wish i'd grabbed more Cobra figs from it, and it was def bang for the buck, would be nice if Hasbro decided to bring the storage locker weapon sets into the classified line
it's actually more real world than you think, when i go to the range to qualify i never wear both knee pads which help stabilize you for the kneeling position, you'll also notice Duke has a single elbow pad which helps in the prone unsupported position, that's where the single/dual knee and elbow pads are from. and Roadblock looks like he has more of a IBA maybe even a flak vest over our more modern IOTV
IOTV vs IBA only pic i could find with both
as far as the shin armor idk i havent worn shin guards since highschool soccer team lol
You know, I see people complain about Roadblock's head, but I think Scarlett's headsculpt is worse. Hopefully that gets adjusted.
i like RB's head, looks like a dark skin ver. of me with no gray hairs lol
It looks to me like they designed her face sculpt after her GI Joe Renegades incarnation.
