Bobby Vala, a former senior designer from Hasbro who worked on GI Joe and Marvel Legends, will be starting a 6" military figure Kickstarter soon. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they end up being easily repaintable/kitbashed into 6" Joes. Bobby Vala on Instagram: “I sure hope I can afford digital camo. #myfiguresarebetter #militaryactionfigures #saveyourmoney #gijoe #gijoenation #gijoecommunity…” His IG page has some neat stuff including pics of the only Night Force Tomahawk prototype in existence, a cancelled item from the late 90's.

Saw on TH earlier (moar pics): 壽屋 2019年7月發售: 1/7 PVC Figure G.I.JOE美少女 Scarlet 12,000Yen | Taghobby.com This upcoming 1/7 Scarlett looks really nice! 220mm 12k-yen msrp 7/19 release-date Anybody gonna be wishing Baroness will be next?
That is a cool Scarlett. Digging the texture on the gray parts of her suit. I don't really collect statues though but had this been an articulated figure, I might have been in on it.
Scarlett is some multi-tasker; shooting at Cobra while waiting for ol’Snake Eyes to creep up behind her wearing nothing but his visor.
It can be melodramatic and as a staff member/fellow fan, the GI Joe fandom can be very passionate and heated. To me, I think it's good Hasbro is letting other companies make licensed product. It doesn't surprise me that a company would want to make a statue of Scarlett in bishoujo style, I'm more surprised it hasn't happened earlier. The fact the Hasbro is letting other companies make product shows me that they themselves haven't forgotten GI Joe. I've been messing with 1 of my modded Skystrikers this week and damn it just reminds me of the good times. I think GI Joe has been the brand that often isn't appreciated until it's gone because it's taken for granted. Admittedly, walking into a store 5-10 years ago(HOLY CRAP! It's been that long!) was an adrenaline rush. In a way I'm glad I can take the time to appreciate what I got. Sucks walking into a store, knowing Joe's aren't there and haven't been there for years.
Some leftover subscription figs are available again at the Club Store. I finally picked up the one I regretted not getting before, Kaos.
Hasbro on Instagram: “Now available exclusively at @footlocker: @asicstigerusa x G.I. Joe limited edition GEL-LYTE III shoes inspired by iconic characters Storm…”
Here are a few follow-up pics of the POC Hiss Tank Scout vehicle that got cancelled. I am working on dusting and adding lights to my Cobra shelves so I thought I would snap a few quick pics.... As you can see it does attach but it looks goofy. On the bright side though, that repainted Hiss Driver is awesome and one of my favorite POC Cobras.....
I mean I would find it hard to disagree with that assessment. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Aside from the anime face, that Scarlett looks very good as a representation of the character. I wish Hasbro had done a 4" 50th 'ultimate' Scarlett with that much care. Same with Baroness, whose 50th representation was rather crap.
We have yet to get a good non-Renegades 4" modern Scarlett. The Resolute one was closest but the head sculpt was too big(common issue on a lot of Hasbro figures during those years).
I have to agree. I mean, anime and manga are just media by themselves and run the gamut with so many different genres and art styles. Yeah, it gets a bad rep with some catering to less savory predilections but to make the claim that these bishoujou statues are in the same vein as those darker depths is really reaching to me. Scarlett really did deserve a better updated figure. I don't think the SDCC version cut it since it reused the same derpy smallish 25th anniversary head. It's not surprising that a lot of folks (myself included) like to kitbash together an "ultimate Scarlett" using her Resolute figure (arguably the most articulated and ARAH inspired colored) as a base.
