Ah, I can see why it's so cheap, thanks! I might do it, just based on how cheap the set it, but I'll keep in mind the faults.
You can replace the hand of the Rock with another black hand... the body makes a decent Sgt Slaughter custom if you find a head for it. People make and sell the Slaughter head by itself.
You know, this is the Storm Shadow I was talking about. It was a single carded version. The one in the set looks the same though. Amazon.com: G.I. Joe Retaliation Storm Shadow Action Figure: Toys & Games
That Snake Eyes does NOT look like the one I was talking about. There are too many Snake Eyes molds/decos for me to be sure which one that is. Maybe someone else knows or maybe YoJoe has it listed.
and the others... http://www.yojoe.com/action/12/roadblock21.shtml http://www.yojoe.com/action/12/stormshadow43.shtml http://www.yojoe.com/action/12/cobracommander49a.shtml They should really do an analysis on the articulation of each figure, but they don't.
Looks pretty good, thanks for the links. Honestly, despite the faults, these figures still look pretty good (just not extraordinary)
The Rock figure there is disappointing. The best Rock figures are in wave 2 and 4. The Ultimate Roadblock in wave 4 is the most movie accurate one. The Snake Eyes is decent but there's a repaint of it in a 3 pack with more accessories, I'd get that instead. Storm Shadow is decent but has a hard time holding the included swords. Cobra Commander has a good sculpt but has single jointed knees. The Eaglehawk is great, others felt cheap. They're big for the price but something seemed off with them.
Yes, the Eaglehawk is outstanding. I totally block out the idea that the Eaglehawk was part of the Retaliation line. That is the ONLY vehicle from that line worth a damn then. Ha!
That's good to know. When I was looking for a reissue/retool of the Cobra Sting Raider (Water Moccasin) the colors and different weapons on the Retaliation version made it an easy pass for me. So I picked up a loose 25th version that came with no Copperhead driver which was cool because I didn't want the Python Patrol deco Copperhead that it normally comes with. So I picked up a loose modern Copperhead that had the ARAH toon colors I wanted. I just hope the Retaliation ARAH 80s toon Cobra Commander figure has good quality because that is the best looking C. Commander.
It appears to, based on Vangelus' video. My personal issue with it is how bad the knife looks, but that's REALLY minor for how good the figure is. Update: My Marauder figure has finally shipped, and I'll now have a figure to pilot my Cobra Transport, woo!
Thanks. That's good to know since I just pulled the trigger on it seeing as how there's only a few hours left for Ebay's 8% Ebay Bucks No Minimum purchase program tonight.
Yeah check your Ebay messages to see if you've been selected for the offer. As far as vipers go I have a 30th standard infantry Viper. I understand that it holds it's gun better than the 25th version. Plus it has a chrome face-plate instead of painted silver.
Excellent choices there. That 25th Water Moccasin is a thing of beauty. Like many of the 25th vehicles it is not identical to the original, even but very faithful and even better. More paint apps for example. That comic version v1 style Copperhead is pretty neat as well. That is the ULTIMATE Cobra Commander. Very well done. I was looking for a modern version of Serpentor that most closely resmbles the classic 80s ARAH toon/toy version. The closest is the version that came in the the 25th Arise Serpentor Arise DVD battle pack. My only gripes include the lack of a knife and lack of the forearm controls... Plus Serpentor never had a "skirt" in the toon...
I guess you could paint one of the wrists light grey if you're so inclined. What kind of knife are you looking for? Combat or more elaborate than that? At least the figure has a convenient functional belt buckle
