Personally, I think the Valaverse gear pack on the 1st release Gung Ho is an ideal middle ground between the 1st release and the retro one
Walmart here only sells Lady Jaye. He is not worth 45 on their site and Pulse is sold out. Meh was never a fan of Valaverse.
Definitely excited for the Joe troop builder, I hope it includes classified takes on the Greenshirt and Steel Brigade. I'm not sure I'm crazy about adding a pilot or sailor to the Joe ranks without them having character or toy roots like the aforementioned two would. Of course, I will reserve judgment until I see them. ^This.... Helix is a big yawn, not much interest at all, I'll get her but not sure what to do with her? Maybe Classified will do an ROC line, HA! One of the best ROC figures released, I would have to check my bins, but I think I have 3 of them. Exact same, awesome haslab release and glad for all those who backed it. Based on space I had to pass and I am completely happy with my 25th version anyway. Side note: 3 PP Troopers arrived from Target. It's a bad pic but they are cool looking troopers.
If Hasbro had used the faded denim blue that Valaverse used, on the retro, the retro would be perfect.
So I got the Skystriker and everything is great with the actual toy, but I’m kinda bummed about the stickers. They only give us 3 Skystriker tail fin symbols, so you have to automatically choose 1 color tail fin or the other. I want to go with black, but they didn’t give us the white star inner tail fin sticker like on the box. They only gave us the black ones like the original toy. It would have been awesome if we would have gotten 4 Skystriker symbols and then both white and black inner tail fin symbols. That way we could sticker both up and swap out as we see fit.
The neon teal is what sold me personally. I love it when you have these very detailed Classified figures in day-glo toy colors. I'm pretty sure Python Patrol Crimson Guard may be my favorite figure in this line.
I feel like Chuckles should be behind the wheel of the taxi. For some reason that feels “on-brand” for him.
Totally fair, I like it simply because the Classified one doesn't really look enough like Gung Ho to me but the Retro one course corrects too hard for me and just looks silly with the baby blue vest and pants. For me, the Valaverse gear pack is a good middle ground Same, but I still wouldn't really care for the blue vest as well as blue pants
I saw that many in a different store BUT I hadn't opened mine yet and wasn't aware that the knee was a problem on this one. Didn't even look at his knees...
Finally started moving things around! MAN! when they were on the higher shelf, it looked like I had alot more figures... Guess I need to buy more to fill all those empty spots... darn.
I feel the same way. I don't know if it's because of nostalgia or because I'm an artist, but I am very picky about colors. I want the colors to match the source material EXACTLY. I hate how so many toy lines have gone the Batman route and made eveything dark and drab.
I believe the way they make these pinless joints is they mold the central part first, then set it into another tool where it molds the part around that central part. I used to wonder if they were molding both the upper and lower parts to a double-jointed pinless arm or leg at the same time, your experience suggests they don't. Why? Because on your upper thigh, it appears they over-molded and it flowed directly onto the PA knee, but this didn't happen with the lower leg. My theory is they use sacrificial spacer material around the central part (the PA knee in this case) that gets washed away after the molding process, but in your case either they forgot to run that sacrificial spacer material, they washed it away by accident, or they ran the material too hot and it melted it into the upper leg's material. Had you not knifed it clear yourself, I would have strongly recommended taking it back to Target or even contacting Hasbro and having them send you a check so they can see the issue themselves.
Lololz!! I try to stick to a VERY strict 2 per soldier because MY buying can get way outta hand too quickly. And I KNOW there are more Cobra figures that I will want. That's why they got the bigger of the two shelves.
Why on earth did Hasbro solicit the Skystriker reissue with white tails and then ship it with Black tails ? As for it not meeting all or it's tiers, I can honestly say I didn't notice it as I still have my Action Force One and I was kinda salty about them making it a Haslab rather than a retail toy ; where it could have had a bunch of follow up repaints made too. Especially as much of the stuff it comes with is only really a benefit to those fortunate enough to own a USS Flagg a Headquarters playset or something else that would make sense to use it with. To be honest I also looked up how much the previous release was and saw it was a 3rd the price for 2 vehicles and wasn't really feeling it. I think if I didn't already have a Skystrker I might have been more interested. Looking at it now though It did cross my mind that there is an interesting use case here I didn't think of at the time which is to NOT put the #100 stickers on it and NOT have Scarlett Piloting it as a wingwoman to the main existing jet.. especially with it being structurally and colourwise "slightly" Different to the original one in a number of small ways. Does it still have rubber like soft wheels by the way ?
