It is cool seeing the Haslab Skystriker on its way. Great way to kick off the 40th anniversary of the design since it was released in 1983. Little over 12 years ago the XP21F version was released in the 30th anniversary line. I loved how much sturdier the new tooling was over the original and how it was molded in grey and black instead of just white. Wasn’t a fan of how a new mechanism was designed to retain the wing sweep/landing gear retraction link nor how it was redesigned to seat just 1 figure. I thought that was the last Skystriker mold we’d see released. Glad it wasn’t and I’m glad the Haslab Skystriker is pretty much all I ever wanted the original to be. There’s a lot in 1 package. It’s not perfect but it’s a hell of a thing to see such a loving homage made to a 40 year old toy design. It’s rare to see a new ARAH toy surpass the original but in this case it definitely does and makes up for all of the original’s shortcomings.
So joe trooper pack is coming also agent Helix. Wonder if they’re doing Steel Brigade or Green shirts on the Stalker body? Supposed to have a lot of accessories. Maybe they’ll include some weapons for some of the already released Joes like Roadblock, the 50cal guns on Serpentor air chariot would be perfect with a tripod.
If they go POC Steel Brigade the Stalker mold would do with Beach Head’s vest but I’d prefer v.1 which would require a button down torso from Duke, Spirit or Recondo. Then it’s just a matter of a lower arm that could resemble the gloved look of the original. Green shirts definitely need a button down shirt but hopefully they aren’t lazy and are willing to mix molds to give them the long sleeve arms from Stalker. if Steel Brigade I’d rather see them go v.1 and build it off the Duke mold rather than POC where the Stalker mold would be more applicable.
Helix is fucking amazing. I need her like, yesterday, goddamn it! ...I also didn't watch the unboxing because I wanted to keep the excitement to myself. Oh yeah. See a lot of those in Oregon coast giftstores, lol. But now I kinda feel bad for a long time owning it considering how endangered sharks are. I got it when I was a kid.
My little sister got it for me from the west coast somewhere a long time ago. I do feel bad for the little guy!
Since the retro card Storm Shadow has forearm wraps without guards, hoping Hasbro repaints that mold specifically for the following: ARAH toy-based Storm Shadow with new shirt sleeved upper arms, nunchaku with chains, a sai and place to store them, also have this repainted as the: Red Ninja Sei Tin Ninja Viper with Jinx’s swords/backpack(new tooling) 1997 Storm Shadow from TRU which had a semblance to the Ninja Force deco

Something I didn’t notice until today is that the front landing gear on the Haslab Skystriker is all new and looks more realistic. Not sure about the rear landing gear yet as I haven’t seen a close up but that’s something I wasn’t expecting at all.
Was mess with Bazooka and check this out. Mainly I took a drinking straw and cut it in half. Instant blast effect.
Hope that troop builder comes with enough gear that you can fake some of the OG13 with some alternate heads.
