Yeah, Dusty feels like a figure Hasbro is going to improve and release on a retro card in a year or two. He just doesn’t quite do it for me. I may grab him on sale or wait for a better version.
I don't feel great about Dusty moreso because of the different color knees and chest. Maybe I can apply a wash to the knees and have it look like dirty knee pads. That shiny chest though.. not sure. Not a deal breaker but also might wait for a sale or a lull in figure releases. The only other figure that I'm not excited about is Falcon because of that face sculpt. Bummed because I really like the character. Pivoting topics... anyone think that Toyhax might (or somehow be convinced to) take a look doing something for GI Joe classified vehicles? Just thinking custom numbers, supplemental gauges / screens, joke bumper sticker, etc.
Finally has come to this for my 6" scale's weapons... It will be full very soon... Couldn't even put the bigger Gridiron stuff in it.
Looks like Amazon pushed my Zarana back to arrive between the 17th-18th. Shame that the one I was looking forward too more got delayed.
I was just about to complain that Hasbro made a label for my Dusty, Zarana and CG but never got picked up by Fedex. While I was catching up reading here a text came through saying they are on the way! It did push the expected delivery date out by a day though. Oh well
Good deal! I wish there was an employee or a higher up media person that would peruse these boards from BBTS...
Zarana arriving tomorrow, Dusty was supposed to be today, but hasn’t shipped. I’ll get the dreaded “Will arrive after Christmas e-mail” from Amazon tomorrow.
Opened Zarana and Dusty. I'm going to have to have Amazon send me a replacement Dusty because mine has super loose legs. The left leg is loose at the hip while the right leg is loose at the knee. I also don't like how his helmet just sits on top of his head. It doesn't pop on like the helmets and hats of everyone else. Zarana is great though. The modern hair with the colors is way better than the 80s one.
So many people hate how late BBTS gets their stuff. I love that they get their stuff later than other online retailers. - Their pre-order cancellation process is hassle free - If early reviews of a figure reveal that a figure is garbage, I can easily cancel the pre-order - If I find the figure in store before BBTS gets it, I can easily cancel the pre-order
I like them for the same reasons..the only concern I ever really have with BBTS is people have said that if they decide you've canceled to many pre-orders you're moved down in the que when the figure does finally release. It's the only reason I try not to cancel to many pre-orders through them.
I think I probably cancel about 1-2 figures for every 10 figures I order. I'm not sure if that has or hasn't affected where my position in the que is. But I will say that the only time I've ever not received something is if it was an item that was cancelled by the manufacturer.
Yeah, I really don't have any loyalty to an etailer except ShowZ (but that's only for 3P TFs) With Joes, its whoever gets them first, so when Guard dropped back down to $24, I nuked my BBTS orders for Wave 10 and put them in at Amazon which will be arriving next week.
Looks like a great way to handle the extra bits, but now you'll need a teeny-tiny card protector to keep Lil' Sarge in top MOC shape!
Yeah, I'm way down on BBTS's list for cancelling preorders so I get mine later than others. I understand why they do it, running a business like that, dealing with product that you may have to clearance later to move is tough even for a small store, but the way they handle it just pushes folks away. Buyer cancelled a few preorders because BBTS were late receiving. Items were late because of how BBTS gets them shipped by a distributor So, BBTS will send buyer everything later from now on as a punishment for cancelling preorders. So, the buyer will cancel even more preorders to get items elsewhere sooner. That is a bad cycle... I'm not the very worst as I haven't had my ability to preorder stopped, yet. (I think that is mainly 4th party etailers flipping large quantities that get that treatment.) But, most of my open preorders have had at least one shipment come in at BBTS and other US etailers... My 3 CeeGees have been waiting to be filled for a very long time, befofe they got the first ones in, as have some NECA Gargoyles that I know A3&U (Canada) and TCP (US) have had at least once. Amazon just opened the CeeGees back up to ship after Christmas (for $1 less each), so, I cancelled those with BBTS.
