Ah yes, who could forget Firefly's secret, unbeatable ninja cheerleading pyramid of death technique. Good times!

Re-read that issue yesterday. Gotta love the state of the art “onboard 92 k memory computer” that startled Lady J with verbal warnings.

Curious to get your take on the run when you finish up your first read through. I read a lot of these issues as a kid, and am surprised how well they hold up…but not sure how much of that is nostalgia/memberberries.

Anyone else get an email from Pulse? It says my preorder for Zartan is ready to ship earlier than expected-----except, I already got it weeks ago?

Full Force Podcast interview with Emily from the Gijoe team. Showed some comparison slides of the Haslab Skystriker VS the previous 1983 and 2011 versions and also the new engine details(pipes/wiring) added to the removable engines.

Meanwhile the Hail Mary for this is a Cobra hijack, the following(and Cobra stickers for the Skystriker) now come individually carded with the Skystriker if backed:
    • 1982 Cobra Commander
    • Cobra pilot
    • Cobra (snake) PIT crew member
G.I. Joe Skystriker – Hasbro Pulse

There’s a Cobra Commander narrated video at the above link(EDIT and here too):

Meanwhile seems like Hasbro is catching up with updating some of their pages/sites, they uploaded the 2nd SITREP to their HasbroPulse YouTube page:

Wonder if Hasbro Pulse is hinting at a Weather Dominator release(taken from their Haslab Skystriker page):

“Isn’t that cute. Your precious Scarlett and Duke climbing into the cockpit of the Skystriker together. Disgusting! No Joe gets access to this Cobra Skystriker! You won’t either if you don’t fork over the cash. I didn’t just bring my expert Cobra Pilot and [Snake] Pit Crew member here for the fun of it. Make this worth my time, you imbeciles!! I have better things to do like take the temperature of the North Pole. Don’t worry about why, you’ll find out soon enough!”

Buy at least one Skystrijer now or pay $1000+ in 2023.

I wish they would put the white stripe on Cobra Commander’s helmet, to further differentiate it from the vintage figure.

I haven’t backed the Skystriker, and probably won’t, but the inclusion of that CC figure is tempting.

...or ignore the new Skystriker entirely and be content with my vintage Skystriker.

I don’t think so. Hasbro waited until less than half a week before the deadline to announce this. Their advertising for it on their own official Gijoe pages/sites hasn’t been consistent either. Beyond IGN, I don’t know of other media outlets that made articles for it. Was there any outreach to former members of the Tomcat community from the Navy and Grumman or Tomcat fan groups through social media or elsewhere on the internet? There’s a number of them that could’ve been contacted.

Given that the Snake Eyes VS storm Shadow o ring set at Hasbro pulse breaks down to $20 per figure…the Skystriker set, if backed by the minimal 10,000 orders will now come with $100 of figures(seemingly), leaving the Skystriker + stand + accessories for the rest of the $130. However across the board, most think $20 is too high for a carded o ring figure(not saying whether I think it’s justified or not, just noting that this is the reception I’ve seen since the prices were announced).

YMMV if you think $20 for a newly produced/carded o ring is better than paying more for a vintage carded figure made more than 30 years ago or if it’s a rip off compared to a $20+ Classified figure you can get now.

It is really funny how dated some of it is. Also, not loving the art for most of it yet. What I am loving is a bit more mature stories. The show was always so kid friendly...(made for kids, go figure). But there's a bit more sense of actual danger, and you're not always positive that the Joe's will win in the end. So far I'm really enjoying it.
