Franklin Talltree FTW! And he could never have been Ace's copilot, he was always a permanent fixture in the 'Fly with good ole Wild Bill in my Joe universe.

That’s who I thought it was too. I thought the name was an homage to 1 of the designers. It’s odd that the inclusion of Wayne Ruthel seems like a bigger talking point in Hasbro’s videos rather than the Skystriker itself. The figure of him is a cool bonus but kind of to be expected with it seeing as they’ve gone as far as to bring back the original package art(reworked a bit). Plus having a figure of him is easier than what they did compared to the amount of new tooling they added to the Skystriker. They haven’t shown the new tailhook in action much. The original never had one, there was a bolt on tailhook that came with the Flagg and could attach to the Skystriker but stuck out a lot. Even if there’s no Flagg on the way, what if the PIT that they hint at has an arrestor wire(some runways have this, it’s not exclusive to carriers). I would’ve shown the tailhook being used with it or at least the vintage Flagg, to at least point out another difference from the original Skystriker.

Yeah, I saw the Wayne Ruthel thing being a Larry Hama/Ron Rudat/etc, naming of one of their friends on a product. I just think Airborne was a single carded Joe with aircraft knowledge so they threw him in the package art, regardless of him being a Helicopter trooper.

That said, I really think I will back the Skystriker, but I am a bit worried about it, especially it hitting tier levels. I grew up on O-rings and still have a massive collection of it, but I really feel that people have moved on to 6 inch. Hope I am working.

I think there’s enough demand for 6” joes in the classified line at mass retail that Hasbro doesn’t need to resort to a Haslab for a big vehicle. Not something as big as a Classified Skystriker but something no bigger than a HISS Tank V1, like a SHARC, ASP, vehicles like that.

For ARAH o ring there’s still a good number of us out there but I think the marketing can be more focused for the Haslab. I think there’s still a place at retail with o ring figures especially if the sculpting is updated to reflect what can be done now and if the pins/rivets are hidden. That to me, depending on how well done, might justify a $19.99 price tag. The sculpting of modern Joe’s didn’t start out all that great but got progressively better. However they’re made of PVC primarily and I prefer the hard ABS plastic of vintage ARAH Joes.

A classified Hiss would be very cool, I think it will happen. I hope we can see more of their O-ring plans at toyfair, but I gotta be honest, I am not going to be crazy about it if they just keep reissuing the same Joes we got in the 80s. I want to see new figures O ring style like Kwinn, General Flagg SR, Dr Venom, etc. I know we will get retreads like 82 Snakeeyes, but I don’t want that to be all we get.

That would be cool but I also wonder if they’ll go as far as to make new figures if o ring will stay a Haslab exclusive. I would’ve started with figures that never got rereleased(like 1985 Snake Eyes….arguably 1 of the most popular yet the only ARAH Snake Eyes mold never rereleased) then start pitching new figures like the ones you mentioned.

Hell next year is the 20th anniversary of the 2002 Gi Joe VS Cobra line. I wouldn’t mind seeing a nylon o ring line of new figures based on the designs from Draxhall Jump from that line. They’re mostly ARAH characters as well so it’s like killing 2 birds with 1 stone. I think that would be a good fit for retail.

There is no real need for Haslabs Classified vehicles, there are many quality 3d printers that are producing high quality vehicles. I have two Dragon Hawks, four Fangs, a HISS, Night Stinger, Wolverine and Vamp incoming. There are other vehicles like the Thunder Machine. Triple T Tank, Water Moccasin available, and someone is working on a Python Patrol Conquest, a Stun, and someone else on a Mauler.

Isn't the 85 Snakeeyes mold lost? I was pretty sure sometime in the early 2000s when O-rings came back someone at Hasbro said this. If they would do a Neo Viper and Heavy Water o-ring figure I would be a happy guy.

Picked up the Forever Clever Hiss & Ferret. Had to snip the ferret stickers to arrange them correctly since they’re the same.
With a little glue here & there , the HISS is kinda cool.
I wish the Ferret was tiny , so it could fit into the Hiss cargo bay.
Makes a good starter set if anyone wants to add doors or enlarge the drivers seat to fit the figure.
Too small for Mega Construx figs.
Hiss doesnt fit back into box, the Ferret does.
Otherwise, I think the HISS is worth it’s 8$.

Hoping to find the Snow Cat, havnt seen it yet.

I think the perfect larger scale vehicle for Classified is the VAMP mold. Couple slight changes and you've got 5 usable variations that could be produced quite easily.

Almost sure it was. However seeing as they made an all new prototype for the Haslab Skystriker by tearing apart vintage samples(this was mentioned during 1 of the videos), they could do the same for 1985 Snake Eyes.

Where are you finding these things? I don't have tons of room but a few things might be cool to add.

That is true. That is one o-ring figure that I would re-buy.

Well if that ain't an oxymoron, sorry the Army in me came out, there's a rivalry of Airborne soldiers vs Air Assult (Heli repel) soldiers, like it's a huge rivalry so him being named one and being the other just triggers me, I really need to reread file cards and see what other insanity GIJoe was doing   :D

Funny, most of my childhood Joe collection didn't survive the move from my parents home to their condo. What did survive however, was my file card collection, a whole Cobra Ferett box full of them. Like a dummy though, I sold them when I was eyeballs deep into collecting the 25th Anniversary 3.75" line. I got around 200$ IIRC, I had some gems, like a good condition Keel Haul card. His was not part of the box like the other drivers, it was a separate piece.

Anyway, Hama was a genius and those file cards were money. Being a Detroit native, I was always partial to Lonzo's file card as my favorite.
