Can't imagine a Classified Torpedo looking better. Nice pick up.
I'd love to get the Armadillo tank as well, maybe with Steeler?
Or boil and pop arms and heat vest too and wrestle it off.
The more Hasbro talked about the Pit in their livestream and video updates I get the feeling they’re hinting at a new HQ Command Center playset to be released as a new Pit, but with provisions for a runway and maybe hardened aircraft shelter. The old one had a helipad so an attachable runway isn’t too much of a stretch.
So I think we will see more vehicles(smaller) released either through retail or as Walmart exclusives(as part of their current retro line) before 2023. Gotta have more vehicles to park into it after all and right now the only recent Joe-affiliated vehicle available has been the AWE Striker at Walmart.
If a Pit/HQ is in the works, I think it would be a Haslab to start next year. Less risk than a USS Flagg and takes up a lot less space. Not to mention, hasn’t been at retail since the 80’s. My friend had the 90’s one and while I thought it was fun and underrated, it’s not the original.
I think a good Haslab candidate would be the Rolling Thunder. Some kid brought it to school back in the 80’s and I thought it was the most bad was ground vehicle I’d ever seen in my life.
I think I would buy that. Hadn’t gotten an Armadillo until the 25th line and I was pleasantly surprised by it.
The blue retooled one with landing skids and more engines from ROC was cool. I have both but I do prefer the Cobra red of the original.
Based on Haslab prices thus far, a new Flagg would probably run $50 or $60K.
I feel like you're not ready to commit to vest removal...
Agreed re the shelf space issue. I’m admittedly doing a poor job at being selective with the figures I buy. I just love the detail… it’s crazy. I thought I’d be down with the modern 3.75 figures (non O-ring), but it seemed like Hasbro was giving much more attention to the Classified line, so that’s where I chose to start my collecting. I never even like GI Joe as a kid, but my young son prefers the Joes to Transformers, so I bought the Classified figures for him. I’d love to see some vehicles for the line, but the shelf space argument gets that much stronger when you think about how big a Classified Sky Striker would be. Then again, Hasbro built the Big Millennium Falcon… and that ain’t small. So maybe there’s hope for the future!
A new PIT would be the ultimate HasLab for Joe; even I’d buy that. Hopefully the Skystriker does well enough to make that happen.
Made this for a friend a while ago.
I took off Roadblock's, Red Ninja and Zartan's but wasn't sure how much was actually sculpted on the torso and how much is vest overlay on Barbecue.
There’s only one way to find out! I was able to get the vest off of one of my CI Troopers by boiling him. No damage was done. Based on what I can tell, it looks like Barbecue’s chest and shoulders are normal underneath his vest/armor. No guarantees, though…
I’ve taken it off Barbecue; it’s Destro’s torso minus the collar and chest piece which leaves a v section down his chest where that part goes (in the event you aren’t aware that is a separate piece on Destro).
And I don't believe in your commitment to Sparkle Motion!
destro's chest and collar are a Separate piece just like Viper Duke and Flint all have the same chest but the shoulder part is a pop on that is changed to give them different shoulders
How about Armadillo with Rolling Thunder?
Saw these tonight. Kind of hard for me to believe there is a classified figure who comes with one, single accessory. I guess the budget went towards getting Samara Weaving’s likeness.
Scarlett has only ever come with her crossbow so it's no different there
Got the M134 Mini gun emplacement and RPG set for the Viper coming from Grid Iron.
This is the Roadblock we needed. Great figure but the gun could have had some better details
Hmm, maybe a re-paint and you could make a decent Agent Helix out of her.
The other one at least came with some knives.
