Remember it took 3 Star Wars projects before they got one for the Black Series. Their first 2 were for the vintage collection as the 300 range is for a big 1/18 scale vehicle. People complaining no classified does realize a huge vehicle for haslab like a skystriker or rattler is gonna cost in the $3-450 range. It will have as much plastic and tooling as unicron, just not as many engineering movable parts. By comparison a snow speeder black series which was retail released even though brick n mortar never carried it in stores, ranged in the $125-130 price mark. So that puts it on par scale wise with a vamp/stinger, awe striker, cobra stun, HISS, maybe just a tad bigger than Sky Hawks, SHARC's, etc. So when we, the backers, pay for limited release tooling and things that goes into haslab projects...the $225 classified laslab would end up being 2 trouble bubbles and a claw and JUMP set. I mean we paid double commander class price point for a leader and voyager figure that combines to a commander. At msrp victory saber would be $90 tops...so if we use that as a base...HISS and other 2 seater land vehicles that would be $125 would be $250+ haslab...so the $225 skystrike puts it on avg with msrp xwing and slave I.
Looks like I celebrated too early and my order with TF Outback and PP Viper didn't go through properly. Haven't gotten a confirmation yet, and there's no sign of the order now. The good news is that they're still up at Target. The bad news is that I likely have to find someone to ship them to who can then re-ship to me in Canada. Any volunteers? Aim high anyways! They're an army builder whether everyone loves them or not. If the availability keeps up like it has been there should be plenty for all.
After some thought, I'm only ordering Classified Storm Shadow. He's my main connection to GI Joe and looks amazing. The O-rings are a missed opportunity. I might be interested if they were a new take on the O-ring but basically being a recasting at the price of a Classified figure is too much. I'm not that nostalgic.
I really don't know that we can speculate on pricing for the new o-ring figures just yet. I'd have to guess the pricing on this new 2 pack has an increase due to packaging and exclusivity... I hope anyway..
I know it's an homage to the Club figure of 2016 since there was no vintage TF Outback, but for the life of me, I don't know why Outback is white-headed now. Does the jungle cause so much stress that you grey faster than normal? The guy is a ginger fer-cryin-out-loud.
Because there was an official tiger force outback with white hair. It was a European exclusive back in like 1990 or 91.
Ahem. Anyways I blew up yesterday and I apologize. I'm kinda going through some shit and I kind of lost control. I don't hate the new Classified offerings to be honest...hell I pre-ordered them all anyways. Anyways...you know I hope that Hasbro is willing to offer an O-ring figure pack for Blue, Green, Purple, and additional Red shirts for the, uh, "Ground Crew" of the Haslab Skystriker. Not like there isn't any precedent. The Reformat Galvatron has an add-on accessory set for Unicron. Getting a full deck crew figure pack for the Skystriker would be awesome.
No need to apologize, this is the internet. And I totally get going through some shit as I have been as well this year. My wife had to have hysterectomy due to tumors, a friend stopped talking to us out of the blue and blocked us from all of her social media (we don't even know if she is alive at this point), a different friend died, my wife's aunt died, and some other personal crap I won't get into.
So who do we think will be next on the Outback body? They said the body is bigger than Duke and smaller than Roadblock. Any theories?
