i'm gonna take the arm crap off that does make him look better, but none of you have changed my mind lol! Gung Ho and Duke are still the worst IMO. might be because they are the only two that besides their looks bugging me also don't feel as solid as all my other Joes. Beach head and My Duke are night and day, same with Road block and Gung Ho.
Walked into a Gamestop today I haven't been to in over and year and here is what I see: All those figures and the only GI Joe they have in there is one lone Gung-Ho. WTF Hasbro?????
My Gamestop trooper has somehow ended up in Ellenwood, Georgia, from Dallas. Doesnt look like Amazon is going to ship the one from there, and I guess Pulse is still set for the 12th.
I have never seen a GameStop with that many figures. Not even close. Crazy. I got a tracking number last night for the order I placed yesterday...hope to see it start moving soon...haha. Maybe I'll actually get lucky...

That's a better looking toy section than any Walmart or Target I've been to! Something came in the mail today...and no, it's not deez nuts! Got in stock alert and went straight to the site. I only added the HISS to get free shipping. Might have gotten something else if I felt like I had time to browse. I did not. He sold out within 5 minutes of my purchase. Kasual Toy Collector is about to mail me a Baroness, then my Cobra force will be caught up except for FANGs. Here's to hoping the Retro line continues long enough for me to get Rattlers, Trouble Bubbles and (hopefully multi-packs) Cobra grunts. And that's not to mention the characters I want!
I'm a fucking chump. Just won a loose complete Cobra Island Beachhead for 80. I'm gonna ventilate my skull when this is all said and done. Just kidding, I won't. But fuck. Getting the figures I want in the decos I want, with the accessories I want. Don't know why it's so hard for GI Joe. That and getting people here and there trying to justify for me why not getting all the accessories is acceptable. Fuck that shit.
Made some spending cash today so I went and ordered another 5 Red Ninja from BBTS. Did I need to? Nope. But they'll look great together once I get the display case reorganized
I went to my nearest GameStop to find that they're closing the store. I also found a lone Gung-Ho, and I bought him. Probably wouldn't have ever gotten around to him if he hadn't been on (near-MSRP) sale and if Zartan's arrival in the mail the other day hadn't jumpstarted my interest in the line again a bit. So now I've still got Flint & Lady Jaye on pre-order, but man it still stings having not ever been able to obtain Baroness, Firefly, Beach Head, or a Viper. I'd imagine those would just have to be re-released in some format eventually, so I'll have to be patient. I was never that big on BBTS in general, but damn they're about the only reliable source for this line.
Okay, got Zartan from Amazon today. What's with the monkey paw and snake head? Why does the backpack have posts and holes? Why does he only come with a pistol and knife? Decent figure, but man the accessories are odd choices. Admittedly I haven't seen any of the media for years, but I was kind of hoping for a bow at least.
Caved, and bought a Cobra Commander. I figured, I better get him for the head that is amazing, since Hasbro will likely never release one with this good of a head in the future. Planning on doing the Red Ninja/Hand Ninja headswap--friend tells me it's pretty easy to do. I totally agree it's rotten how Hasbro released a significantly cheaper version of the original Cobra Trooper, but I couldn't pass the offer up at retail. They couldn't have at least included the armband in the cheapskate version? And yes, I do encourage calling Hasbro a bunch of cheapskates because they deserve it. CC and GH are from Gamestop. Friend was nice enough to share in his glory of obtaining multiples of the Infantry. Hand Ninja is from Target--which an employee had to retrieve for me from the back.
We Joe fans aren't allowed to have value in our figures and we need to suck it up and take our lumps from Papa Hasbro. Every Cobra Island re-release in the retail line is going to lose accessories, just watch. Beachhead will have no beret, no rifle, no crossbow. Viper will have no scarf, no rifle. Firefly will have no bombs, and every 3rd Firefly will have a gun of some kind. Basically if you want accessories be prepared to bow down to your scalper overlords. Hasbro don't give a fuck.
