As follow-up, I just got this reply from RK: So that settles that then. Glad I was wrong on this one.
Just an FYI, as I know many of you collect multiple lines. The Magic Square legends class Megatron come with a 12th-ish scale version of himself that kind of goes with the Classified line. It's on the big side, but go big or go home right?
I think those of us outside of the youth bubble don't realise just how popular Fortnite is with younger kids. Any association that GI Joe can make with Fortnite can only be good publicity in making the newer generations aware of GI Joe as a whole. That being said, if I could go back and un-purchase all of the GI Joe vehicles that I bought over the years, I totally would (with a few exceptions). They just take up so much space. I pulled out several boxes of vehicles from the closet, and I am not looking forward to trying to sell those things on eBay.
CC looks even thinner in this pic. I guess hasbro thought it was too scary for children to release a “fit” CC. That means we’ll probably never see one with comic accurate proportions. I have no use for a puny CC.
I am not sure which is worse. I don't want the Classified series to get away with sloppy paint. So far so good with what I have in hand. I haven't noticed any problems, but those pics he showed look a little worrisome.
Yeeeeaaahhh, that's a good point. All the Vipers I've seen have had great paint, though a few had a small mark on their face shield that was only noticeable from certain angles. Hopefully that was just a one-off.
Found it interesting that a walmart had the fortnite bus and weapons you were talking about, on clearance.
The thing that started that whole ball rolling was strange choice of language in the item title. I don't think that would have pinged my KO radar otherwise. The paint apps would still have been sub-par and the plastic a notch or two softer, but that alone wouldn't have made me suspicious. Well, coming from HK would still have been a red flag until I found out the company is from there.
Leveling with you all here, as someone who was in the age demographic they want for Fortnite back when it was at its peak. Fortnite merch doesn't do nearly as well as you think it does. Most of that 4' stuff gets clearance with 6' fairing only slightly better.
My walmart just got wave 3 of the retro line, surprised because i never saw wave 1 or 2 at this walmart
Awww hell...would like that Lady Jaye. I’ve only seen a couple of the retro figures myself...would be amazed if I actually found these in-store.
My preorder for wave 3 from Walmart per usual says "delayed, check back later for status update." If these have hit shelves now, my guess is that the website will fulfill them sometime in June or just outright cancel them. Come on Walmartdotcom, prove me wrong!
The G.I. Joe Cobra Commander is from the Bruceville Wal-mart. There were a ton of figures left. I bought the two Cobra Commander figures. And I left one Duke, one Lady Jaye, and a few Snake-Eyes, Destro, and Roadblock G.I. Joe figures. Also, there are two Cobra Island Gung-Ho figures still at the Consumnes River Wal-mart. One on the peg, and one lying in one of the baskets at the end of the aisle.
Is CC's dome chromed or just silver? Because if chrome, I might have to break my rule and buy it to keep MOC. EDIT: N/m - thanks for the close-up pic. Can easily pass now.
I bought Beef Boss at retail price because of Robo. Otherwise, only when discounted. Picked up a purple Johnny Lawrence/skeleton about two weeks ago for $6 bucks at Target. Found a few at Ross this weekend, including Havoc/Firefly for 10 bucks. Relevant to this thread: 1) when we were talking about perceived value a few weeks back re Action Force/Valaverse and Hasbro: a $20 Fortnite fig, even with all the weapons and goofy add-ons, doesn’t feel like a $20 figure like ML or Joes. I like the charm of some of the designs, but it feels like the accessories are necessary to compensate for the primary figure. 2) other than Beef Boss, I don’t think I’d have purchased a single Fortnite figure (even on discount) if there were Joes available to purchase.
