My first Classified fig. Yeah, this guy is great. The scarf, and binoculars, is cool, but the detail for collared shirt is too good to cover up. Comparison pic with Rebel trooper for kicks.

I don't know if you have ever cleaned up old Joe stuff, but that thing looks like it can use a good scrub with rubbing alcohol. :lol

Is alcohol the thing to use? I was planning on some like lysol wipes.

Goo gone for the stickers, Dawn and a soft bristled toothbrush with warm water for the rest. Gotta be careful with those vintage Joe vehicles, they’re fragile but clean up nicely with a little elbow grease.

I know everyone else has moved on to Vipers and Firefly but...

Got a helmet and Sunbow Rifle for my Duke:

And painted his kneepads and shinguards:

Pretty happy with the results and I’m actually enjoying this figure a lot more now.

I would not use lysol wipes myself.

I usually use water, alcohol and a toothbrush. Some use a mild soap like Dove.

It always made me happy to restore the vintage stuff.

Goo gone and/or Goof off make wipes that are good for cleaning sticky residue etc. But for most stuff, warm water + mild dish soap and a soft brush will clean it right up.

Looks like he might have done a light wash on the hair to darken it slightly, but that is the stock face pretty much.

That helmet looks great! Where'd you get it? Also I realize the original shinguards are not classic, but I actually like the metallic bronze/nickel and neon blue. Duke will likely get an obviously classic release, so I don't see the point in trying to make the first 1/12 release classic, by repainting it. However, the 1/12 Joes feel to me as Hasbro's best work since Titans Return, so I can't blame someone for adopting a completionist mentality for the classified line.

To me, it looks like a caricature of Firefly, it’s too styalized to fit in as a stand-in for Classified Joes. If Vala makes gear for ARAH Firefly and if someone makes a generic enough saboteur buck, I’d probably aim for that.

That does look good man, thanks for the link. Just needs the V1 Firefly gear and possibly a head swap with Classified Cobra Island Firefly.

I don't know the story, but I am happy seeing more people getting this guy. And he looks pretty good with those guns.

Did anyone preorder a Viper on Target's website back in September? I was able to get ONE, but I keep getting weekly e-mails saying I have to confirm delays or they will cancel my order. Most recently, it has been in "Preparing to Ship" status for the last week and is supposed to be due to get delivered tomorrow. Obviously that ain't happening.

My order has also been “Preparing to Ship” for a week now, but my estimated arrival is February 5th. I’ve seen posts of a few people getting theirs, so they’re trickling out little by little. This is basically the pattern that the Thrust preorders followed last month so I’m optimistic that this one’ll go a similar way.

Well he should have. Was pretty crappy of a "friend" trying to charge triple the amount or whatever it was.

    What are those guns from?
