Yet another bizarre but charming Wes Anderson film with an ensemble cast, stunning cinematography and sets, quirky characters and a plot that doesn't really matter when compared to the Euro-American retro vintage atmosphere. And it's sure to win critical acclaim, of course (both laconic and excited).

I'm pretty excited for this film. I love Wes Anderson's films a lot so it'll be nice to see him put another film in theaters.

His level of quirk could only work with this cast.
I never saw Rushmore, but hear good things.

Saw The Royal Tenenbaums, did not care for it, couldn't get into it. (Sat through it all, though.)

Thought The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou was kind of sweet (at times) and underrated. (So, so quirky, though.)

The Grand Budapest Hotel was just lovely and Ralph Fiennes carried the film like it was a breeze.
I have high hopes for this one... The trailer looks stunning.

TFX What did you think of Anderson's animated feature Fantastic Mr Fox?

Really the only film I’m truly excited to see this year. Wes Anderson films are a balm for me. I can start one and disappear from reality completely for the duration. It’s like his particular blend of colors, sounds and arrangements are more effective than any anti anxiety drugs.

Yeah, I'm a 50/50 Wes Anderson fan myself - for as many of his movies that I love, I have rolled my eyes at just as many - but aesthetically speaking, you always instantly know one of his movies as soon as you see it. The guy definitely has an immediately identifiable distinct style, and that's a rare trait to accomplish when it comes to directors.

Anderson is probably my favorite currently-working filmmaker. So I am happy. Looks fantastic.

Looks interesting. I'm of the opinion that Wes Anderson's unique style straddles that fine line between amusing quirk and eyeroll-inducing pretentiousness, so he ends up being 50-50 for me too.

I absolutely loved that movie! I watch it on tv whenever it’s on it’s that good! And like this movie it also has an excellent ensemble cast (George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, and even Professor Dumbledore himself, Michael Gambon, as the villain)

TBH I honestly had no idea Wes Anderson directed that movie (mainly because I didn’t know who he was at the time), and yes @QLRformer, I also loved the Family Guy Wes Anderson parody too
