I’m gonna bet that the Spiderverse rumors surfaced only because of WandaVision and Doctor Strange 2 coming out beforehand. Like the sheer amount of rumors of previous actors returning is unintentionally hilarious to me. If anything, I’m gonna bet that they’ll mix flashpoint and a crisis storyline in one. Either that, or all these original actors will just play the characters in the “flashpoint “ universe.
YOUNG AND RESTLESS Actress Sasha Calle Cast As DC's New SUPERGIRL; Will Debut In THE FLASH Film We finally get see DCEU Kara.... but she stars alongside the Multiverse film.
If you ask me, both this and spidy 3 and this sound like bloated messes. But at least in this case, the film's star isn't lying out the teeth about the returning characters.
THE FLASH Casts Maribel Verdu As Barry Allen's Mother, But Billy Crudup Drops Out Due To Scheduling Conflict
It's crazy with how much I've been against Ezra Miller and him ever reprising his role as the Flash, but after watching youtube videos about the differences between Whedon's Justice League and Snyder's, I'm starting to think that 90% of what I hated about Ezra's Flash was actually Whedon's fault, and only 10% or less was actually a problem with Ezra. What a clusterfuck Warner Bros. has created with their incessant second guessing and multiple changing of course mid-stream.
Rumor: Lack Of Commitment By Michael Keaton Has Warner Bros. In Talks With Christian Bale To Return As Batman In Andy Muschetti's The Flash - Bounding Into Comics
Bale returning isn't nearly as exciting, IMO. *looks at source* Oh, so it's not even on the table, is it?
Christian Bale is also doing Thor: Love and Thunder in another continent. The best part about these types of rumors is that the person reporting it can say it didn’t pan out.
Maybe I should change careers and produce clickbait for a living. It looks kinda fun. BREAKING: Warner Bros. is considering casting Hobbes-timus Prime to play Murray Bozinski in a reboot of the classic 80s detective drama RIPTIDE BREAKING: RIPTIDE reboot not moving forward. BREAKING: RIPTIDE reboot not dead after all? dinobot1 eyed to star after Hobbes-timus backs out. BREAKING: RIPTIDE reboot finally dead; no one remembers RIPTIDE.
HOW DARE YO-- Wait...what? Anyway, if Keaton doesn't come back, my next choice is honestly Clooney. He was always great casting for the role, he was just surrounded by other bad decisions. Give him a better script and batsuit and he could redeem himself, and that would be kinda fun to see.
I feel like this movie would be dead in the water if Michael Keaton somehow dropped out. He’s the hook for this movie; Ezra Miller’s Flash sure as hell isn’t. I also don’t think it’s a coincidence that the first piece of marketing for this movie heavily features Keaton’s Batman. All of this is conjecture of course. I would like to think that Warner Bros. Would have secured Keaton before announcing it back at DC Fandome, but they’ve shown themselves to be greatly inept.
So why do sites like Bounding Into Comics and Cosmic Book News keep getting linked here? They're not exactly credible sources as far as I'm aware, and the times they get something right is usually more of a stopped clock moment then anything else. Anyway, if Keaton really is having issues with committing to this project, Christian Bale would be my last choice of previous Batman actors to return to the character. George Clooney would be a better choice in my opinion.
Actually it may just be a play to get him to commit to the project. He's been iffy about it. Michael Keaton reveals he's undecided on Batman role in The Flash movie, says COVID-19 will 'determine everything'
