Can we not like... have a movie about the flash saving the day before we get to all the time travel stuff?

I agree. Just do a damn movie with Flash being a hero already.

While speaking to Fandango, Muschietti revealed that The Flash will indeed be his next movie - but fans of the director's previous work shouldn't expect to see any of his horror sensibilities reflected in the adventures of The Scarlet Speedster.

“An element of horror? I don’t think so. What captivated me about the Flash is the human drama in it,” he said. “The human feelings and emotions that play in the drama [of it]. It’s going to be fun, too. I can’t promise that there will be any horror [elements in it], really, but it’s a beautiful human story.”

Curious as to what the drama will be. But it needs to make Ezra Miller's Flash more relatable, rather than some dude who pushes people and runs away.

In order to make it relatable, they have to replace Miller.

I doubt Miller is the problem though. I thought he was okay, and maybe if Barry was a better-written character he could do better.

Oh, he was the problem all right. Not the only problem, but a huge one. If someone wants to make a movie about teenage Woody Allen, then Miller is the guy you should get. He's got Woody Allen's mannerisms and insecurities and even his creepiness DOWN. But he can never be Barry Allen.

Nah, he was definitely half of the problem. He's too young for Barry and he's not a great actor. Every role I've seen him in he plays the same type of shy awkward character. He probably could pull off Wally West, but he will never be Barry Allen.

Flash: Warner Bros. Moving Forward with Ezra Miller Film - Eventually

"Warners and DC also still have faith in Ezra Miller’s smart-ass interpretation of the Flash and are proceeding with development on a standalone film based on the character," Variety reported.

The report also confirmed that Andy Muschietti, director of It and It: Chapter Two, will serve as director on The Flash.

Muschietti, huh? Maybe he'll trade one clown for another. (Don't brush The Clown off too lightly, he's partially responsible for Hunter Zolomon's transformation into Zoom)

Flashpoint seems like a story line you would do with already established character. We know nothing of Ezra's Flash, who he is, who his team/family/friends are, or more importantly who his enemies are. For his first live-action movie, this does not seem like the best to start with.

There should be more the Flash can do beyond time travel.

I agree. My guess is the reason they're rushing into Flashpoint is an ill-conceived idea to try to do a soft reboot to the continuity of the DCEU so that they can ignore things like BvS and Justice League without seemingly being awkward.

They can easily just use CW's Crisis on Infinite Earths for that reason though. Just have some character or article make a theory that their world got rebooted like a comic book or something.
