It is but man is it worth it. You get a lot for that price. I recommend going to one on a day that you haven't already eaten much, maybe with a friend or family member. It's messy but damn is it good. Dammit I'm now craving 5 Guys.
I had heard a lot about them b4 they finally started opening in this area, tried it once, can't say I was overly impressed. It was okay, but in 4 years, haven't been back. *shrugs*
They closed the one two minutes away from me last year. Still pissed cause they replaced it with a shitty place. I don't even know why it was replaced cause it had a lot of business.
I went there earlier this week and they gave me extra large fries because of the long wait. The people working at the Five Guys seem pretty nice but I don't go there often.
Love 5 guys. There are 2 in a 10 block radius from my school. Whenever i have a long break, i will stop in just for an order of fries. An order alone fills me up.
This. I find Five Guys incredibly overrated, generic, and boring with limited options... I would rather eat at Red Robin
Used to go to their first and second restaurants when I lived in DC in the early 90's all the time, before they went and franchised. Sadly, the quality is going down in the franchises. The ones I went to in DC had fresh buns made next door, and fresh local meat. Now its frozen meat and regular white buns...and I'm just so much less impressed I haven't been to the local one in over a year. My Dad is addicted now, tho. --Moony
You know, with the mention of other Fast Food Burger chains, maybe the thread should be renamed? Who's with me?
I think there was another thread a while ago... Fat burger > The Counter > Smash burger > in-n-out > five guys > The Habit
The first In-N-Out is gonna open soon here (but its in Medford of all places). But like SpinalCord, i like Red Robins better than those two...i always get my favorite, the Whiskey River BBQ Burger.
I was decently impressed with the amount of food you can get per serving and thought it was above average taste wise, but nothing that'd keep me going every week.
