I’d get rid of Bumblebee’s radio talk from season 1. It made my ears bleed.

Keep the Seekers alive. They killed them all just as they were starting to get interesting.

They don’t have to have human Tagalongs, but I’d show populated areas and how they blend in amongst the humans. The amount of fully automated buildings & stuff in this show was dumb.

Do more with the rivalry between Bee & ShadowStriker.

I hate you. this is pretty in-line with what I'd do with g1! :p

    Well...

    1. Have Elita One and her team show up after the Search for Alpha Trion, like every time the Autobots went to Cybertron in season two and even just cameos in season three.

    2. Have the movie cast debut in season-two episodes. Have Hot Rod be a wet-behind-the-audio-receptors guy who makes Bumblebee look wizened and mature but have him learn and mature a bit. Have Ultra Magnus show up so we can see why Optimus trusted him with the Matrix.

    3. Fuck, have the damned Matrix SHOW UP in at least season two.

Cybertron was the first series I ever watched. Here’s how I’d fix it:

    Episode structure:
    • This series is pretty good with regards to filler, but there are a few episodes, especially early-on, that really feel like filler. Cut those out.
    Characters:
    • Give the Decepticons more focus and flesh out their individual personalities, the same character development the Autobots have.
    • Explain how Sideways survived the events of Armada and why no one remembers him.
    • Explain why the humans don’t remember the Autobots after their existence was well-known in Energon.
    • Give Soundwave his g1 voice.

Animated was my first TF thing and its near perfect in my eyes so Ill skip to the Michael Bay films, my second TF thing:

    TF1:
-Get rid of everything involving Maggie and Glenn as they are mostly useless in the story.
-Make Starscream show up earlier in the film
    -Let Frank Welker voice Megatron.
-Make the subtitles say the tank guy's name is Brawl, not Devastator.
-Let Bonecrusher, Blackout and Brawl speak real words at some point in the film.
-Cut the masturbation joke, the Bumblebee lubrication joke, and Simmons creepy comments to Mikaela.
-Show a shot of Barricade driving away before Bonecrusher fights Prime.
-And finally, you can keep Jazz's death, but kill him in a more dignified way, dammit.

    RotF:
-Get rid of the twins altogether.
-No robot scrotums, farting, humping, tongue kissing, nut tasing, or blowjob jokes.
    -Please no Simmons' ass cheeks!
-No gratuitous porn shots of Mikaela.
    -No Leo.
    -No Alice.
    -No Grindor.
    -No Bonecrusher lookalike.
-Give the Constructicons some dialogue and personality.
-Give Jolt and Sideswipe more screentime.
-Cut the runtime to two hours.

    DotM:
    -Less Que, more Dino.
-Keep Brains, but get rid of his perverted habits.
-Have the bots acknowledge the deaths of Wheelie and Ironhide.
-Have Sentinel die of his wounds instead of being executed.
-Give Megatron's character arc more attention.
    -Give Shockwave more to do.
-Kill Starscream in a more dignified way.
-Cut out the relationship drama. Why can't Sam and Carly just have a happy relationship?
-Let Jolt and Chromia be in the movie.

    AoE:
-Keep a few of the older Autobots around, my picks being Jolt and Roadbuster. Show the other Autobots being killed so we know for sure theyre dead.
    -Let Megatron stay dead.
-Have the final battle be Lockdown tearing up Hong Kong looking for Optimus. The Autobots will fight Lockdown's thugs instead of the KSI robots.
-Have the KSI robots fight the Autobots at KSI headquarters midway through the movie. Then the Autobots will be chased down the road by the remaining ones, where Lockdown will capture Prime.
    -Give the dinobots some personalities.
    -Get rid of Shane.

    TLK:
    -Make the editing coherent.
    -Make the characters likeable.
    -Make the story good.

It was either Armada or Cybertron but I'll go with Cybertron since that's the one I know I saw the most episodes of.

    Cybertron
    Way less time on Velocitron.

I would have at least had it that when Tigerhawk speaks it's with both Tigatron and Airrazor's voices. Makes it actually seem like a being made of two people rather than just Tigatron with some wings.

I've been watching Cybertron recently and holy hell they spend so much time on the Velocitron storyline that it's not even funny.

It bothers me too but I'm willing to let it go under the assumption that it is far less efficient for non-flying Cybertronians to fly. They're basically relying on thrust (from their feet) with no lift, so they burn a lot of energy to get anywhere, and their boxy frames are not very aerodynamic. The Seekers and other aircraft employ lift forces via their wings or rotors which helps turn horizontal thrust into vertical.

For me the Sunbow cartoon was the first, also. But what I would change is, give them an actual budget so more scenes can be animated (or animated properly) rather than still frames. More money for quality control. It already has good music. The voice acting was pretty solid throughout, though there are quite a few moments where characters move their mouth while not talking, or where the wrong character moves his mouth. There are some scenes with incredibly bad animation and backgrounds, and some where even the still frame representations of the characters are just atrocious. All laser battles in the entire series are cheesy and hard to believe since no one ever hits each other and they stop to discuss matters while being shot at with no cover or concealment. Typically, losing a laser battle occurs when the ground directly beneath the character's feet gets shot and launches the character a distance away. It's extremely common for characters to directly shoot each other in the torso with no effect, though this is sometimes explained by plot elements.

Only in the 86 Movie do we finally see a slightly more realistic gunfight, but it ends up being totally one-sided and the behavior of the Autobots is not very intelligent or believable (Brawn runs toward the Decepticons with no weapon until he is killed; Ironhide and Ratchet don't stand up from their chairs until after Brawn and Prowl are killed; Nobody attempts to radio a warning to the Moonbases or to Earth; It's also curious why Prime sent almost his entire command staff on a fetch errand, while his other officers were placed at observation posts). Also, the Autobots are pretty negligent in letting Laserbeak spy on them and infiltrate their HQ multiple times.

    So to sum up,
    * General animation quality control (color errors, glitches, etc)
    * Better fight choreography (Instead of "we always miss") with injuries more common
    * A little more fidelity and higher frame rate in Transformations, less "morphing" of parts
    * More believable chains of events with explanations that don't leave us thinking the characters are morons

I haven't watched Beast Wars yet. I'm going to start in a few hours later today... So wish me luck. But what little I've seen, he seems to do an OK job. It's a neat trope, an ostensibly evil character that values honor and thus wants to be an Autobot. His Freddy Kreuger face matches the voice they gave him, I feel. What are your thoughts on this? Also, do you have any advice for a first time Beast Wars watch-through?

It's really hard to make any complaints about it. It occupies a strange but lovable niche and gives a nice sampling of Transformers history via Bee and Windblade's "diagnostic" arc. They do some cool and new things with some of the classic G1 characters, and it manages to have some interesting plots that aren't just reinventions. Only late in Season 2 and Season 3 are there a few lame episodes, but they're still enjoyable. Super Megatron and the whole ending of Starscream's character were great. Anyone who hasn't watched Cyberverse, the whole series was available on Youtube last time I checked.

Yeah, any form of resurrecting Optimus Prime's consciousness was just a kick in the shins. Especially since he's forced to suicide bomb the Quintessons basically immediately, and the end result of the episode is that the Autobot Mausoleum has to be thrown into a sun so it can't be misused again. I feel that for the events of Season 3 to play out well, the Quintessons should have been written as native Cybertronian life which later used the hardware and software resources on the planet to manufacture and sell the beings we would come to know as Transformers. Like, imagine if Neanderthal Man had created a technological society and used their resources to create Homo Sapiens as slaves, and then got chased off the Earth by their slaves.

Season 2 was going for length and nothing else. They wanted to be syndicated, and the intercalary storylines really show that they didn't have many great ideas how to get there. :p  65 episodes is a lot for a series like this. It's now more typical for shows to run 6-12 episodes per season in the USA, and Anime still tends to aim for 14-28.

Beast Wars is a FANTASTIC show! I grew up with G1 and was very hesitant to watch Beast Wars because I thought transforming into animals was lame. Then, over time I couldn't help but read all these posts from all these different people that kept consistently saying how awesome Beast Wars was. So, after listening to several people I bought the Rhino box set of Season 1. Man, after 3 or 4 episodes I was all in. I love Beast Wars. I still think that CG looks better than 90% of the garbage I've seen since it came out. It puts that awful CG from Energon to shame and it came out almost a decade later. My advice would be to give it a chance. I guarantee you won't be disappointed. If this hardcore G1 dude can love this show, anyone can.:thumb

I prob would’ve given mainframe more money to improve the sparse environments of season 1. They blew most of their money on the character designs.

I too got involved through the 2007 movie. Animated was the first show I watched. What I would change about it-.
-Leave out Bulkhead, I found him so annoying, even back then. I liked his character in Prime tho.
    -Too many human villains
-Soundwave comes from Cybertron, not built by humans
-DO NOT KILL PROWL & STARSCREAM!!!

Armada for me. I would give it a more complete dub and finish its animation. and take out Billy and Fred they don't serve any real purpose after bullying Rad and Carlos for the first few episodes. I would have Billy and Fred get kidnapped earlier and then avoid the main three kids like the plague.

G1 was my first. I'd fix all the animation mistakes including miscolored Seekers, lack of tweens, incorrect characters in places, etc. All of AKOM's episodes would be reanimated in both Seasons 2 and 3 with Toei styled animation. I would add a small number of episodes (say 15?) of stories detailing the events prior to the Movie. Every episode, where feasible that still works continuity wise would add in deleted scenes. Add an additional 20 episodes of Season 3 for characters who just got forgotten about, or deserved more storytelling (Rodimus Prime, the 86 Mini-Bots, the Battlechargers, etc). Perhaps rework the episodes of Season 3 that need consistency and continuity errors fixed.

So Armada… it’s not my first TF show, but I’ve given it a lot of thought as to how I would improve it.

Probably the main idea driving my version, would be using each episode as a travelogue to take the audience to the coolest places on Earth. I want the viewers to be as awestruck as the Autobots seeing Earth for the first time. I want the audience to have that same sense of wonder by really highlighting incredible locations all across the globe… and making them say “this is a real place that exists?!”. So many of the TF shows feature generic locations, and Armada was one of the most glaring with its endless deserts. I would want to find the coolest places on Earth to throw the TFs into.

    FOR EXAMPLE!!

I was brainstorming ideas on how to use Tidal Wave and came across two exciting options- both of which would make for great settings.

    Norway’s Ocean Road:
Just imagine the Autobots having to cross this while under attack from Tidal Wave. It just screams epic.

And one of those underwater ocean tunnels. Just incredible and absolutely terrifying (for me :p  ).
    E084449C-A445-4E9A-80A5-6CC886EF59D7.jpeg

There’s so many cool things to see. A big Mini-Con hunt and a spacebridge to jump to any place on Earth are the perfect excuses to check them out.

I watched many of the shows around 2009/2010 but the first new show that I watched as it aired was prime, so I'll go by season.

Season 1-Well I would make the autobots less op, have there be more named decepticons earlier on, also tease unicron throughout the season as opposed to the last 4-5 episodes.

Season 2-I would make the entire season not a fetch quest, involve mech more, and honestly just make starscream stay as an independent.

Season 3-I would add more predacons, or at least the preds from the movie.

My first series was Beast Wars.
What I would change. The animation. I would remaster it or update it to meet today’s standards. That’s it.
