Heh. Reminds me of this one local meme where it’s Chip Chase on the Computer saying “The Internet was made for people to connect and complain about Transformers.”

So I’m guessing way back when the Internet was best for posting big journal entries and letters since IM wasn’t a thing yet.

There was nothing about G2 in his reviews, this was from 1985.

But agreed, there is nothing good to review about G2, except that I was glad to see G1 back on the air during the time of no videocassettes of most episodes and no internet.

The post I replied to mentions the lack of a G2 review

    Agreed

Both posts are signed Bill Flanagan, which makes me think he wrote them (the title "Flanimation" supports this) and Jay Parks simply posted them on his behalf.

Bill Flanagan is most likely author and TV exec Bill Flanagan - Wikipedia https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Flanagan who would have been 30 years old at the time.
He had written books about various popular culture aspects at the time.

Based on the date that it may very well be

But i question some of the info, for example, war on Cybertron was nowhere near a few eons old as per the comics not even if you count the 4 million years they were dormant on earth

A mistake like that could easily be made if he already watched the cartoon but The cartoon had not aired yet, and wouldn’t for almost another four months

    Google Groups - Wikipedia

Google purchased archives of 20 years worth of old UseNet groups when they brought it online in 2001 as well as having some donated from universities for archival purposes.

By the end of 2001, the archive had been supplemented with other archived messages dating back to May 11, 1981.[12][13][14] These early posts from 1981–1991 were donated to Google by the University of Western Ontario, based on archives by Henry Spencer from the University of Toronto.[15]

I wonder if Ted Nolan, Chuck Dobrovolny, or Bill Flanagan have ever posted on these boards...
