See, that’s what I thought at first, that I could gain extra FM from completing each individual story. But the only FM I’ve been getting from that mode is through level-ups. After completing a story, the only notifications I get are that I can now purchase a color in the shop, and that I can now change the character’s costume in Story Mode. No extra FM. I’ve heard that Story Mode used to give FM but Capcom removed that reward.

I haven’t tried Mika much in SFV yet, but Gief has always been fun. Back in SFII I would pick him if I just wanted to mess around with the AI opponent and throw them all over the screen. The AI had a hard time avoiding to SPD ;)
Plus I liked seeing him dance with Gorbachev.

Just remember, with Zangief, he no longer has his Banishing Fist move, so for some long time 'gief players, that a major change-up.

Haha, yeah when I first got SFV I kept trying to do the Banishing Fist and wondered why it wasn’t working. Checked his move list and couldn’t believe it was missing.
However, I guess it became unnecessary with the addition of his V-Skill, which kind of has a similar function of absorbing projectiles.

BTW, I’d ask if you’d want to play online, but I don’t think I can because I don’t have the PS4’s paid online service. Total newbie question, but don’t I have to pay to fight online?

I don't think you do, but I play through Steam, so I'm not familiar with how the current Playstation paid services are, I haven't done that since the PS3 days.

I'm hoping Zangief and Mika make it to SFVI. Would love to have Haggar in there finally. If Mika doesn't make it in for some reason, I'm hoping we at least get a playable version of her tag partner Nadeshiko in her place.

So I haven't been into SF since 3rd Strike but i totally think it's cool that you can earn points in the game to get new characters and backgrounds compare to Tekken where you straight up have to buy them each individually or buy the season pass which unfortunately is what I ended up doing. Funny thing is even though I have these new DLC characters,I barely use them and is pretty much a waste of money to me. I guess my OCD can't stand seeing a Locked character on the selection screen lol.

For me, I have a couple long time friends, one that moved across the country, that I still play this and other fighting games with, so having a large roster helps. Besides, I like the story and legitimately want to know what happens to each character.

That's the one thing that blows in all of Tekken 7 DLC's as there isn't no story or ending at all. Also super cool you still play with all your old friends cross country. I use to play with my friends all the time back in the day including going to the arcade but unfortunately they did something called getting married and having kids (YUCK!) Lol:D jk, so they really don't play as much anymore. Nothing beats playing with close friends vs Random online.

What I do is if there is a pc version I buy the game plus season pass from a discounter like cd keys for under retail. Then I buy a hard copy when the base game dips under 20 bucks for console just to have a hard copy if Ive really enjoyed the game.

I end up paying about regular retail that way so if Ive had a blast playing it, its not so bad trying to justify the purchase.

I love fight games, for me it's a great way to get rid of stress. I play Dota 2 and CS:GO right now, both awesome. Plus I found eport platform with all liquid vs astralis matches. It's esport platform for gamers where you can check team rankings and all upcoming events.

Just some friendly info, this thread is dedicated to one-on-one martial arts-style fighting games like Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Tekken, etc.

DOTA and Counterstrike are more multiplayer online war games (at least, I think DOTA 2 is…I don’t follow games like that so I had to look up what it was ;) )
I don’t know if there is a thread for games like that, you’ll have to search around.

Does anyone here play Tekken? Really started trying to learn it a couple months ago and holy shit this game is NOT beginner friendly. I've been playing SF since the 90's(no SF5) but this 3d world is hurting my brain. I've never been so frustrated playing a fighting game in my life lol.
