HOLY.SHiT!.!!! I'm so stoked for this especially since I enjoy the storyline/lore behind it.

Only downside on my end is looks like I need Next gen console.

 

Hopefully we'll get gameplay vids soon but it's already way more impressive looking than SF6.

 

I know in the beginning there's a disclaimer saying it's renders are in development but I can't help but think @ the 0:35 mark when they're actually fighting,that's what the gameplay will look like. It wouldn't surprise me if this reveal trailer is part of the Storyline with all the cinematic moves and slow-mo. IIRC 1 of the Tekken 7 trailers had Akuma vs Heihachi which ended up in the story mode.

Also IMHO you can't compare SF6 to T8 as both are 2 different Fighters which are doing their own thing especially on their artistic side of it.

@ the end of the day,I'm just glad we're getting the next version of these popular fighters. 

EDiT: For anyone who wants to know the crazy lore behind the characters of Tekken,I highly advise you to watch this as he explains it perfectly. It's a long video (1.5hrs) but very Informative and Entertaining.

It's so crazy for me to think the whole story has always been Son (Kazuya) vs Father (Heihachi) and once again it's Son (Jin) vs Father (Kazuya)! That's 1 hell of a storyline lol

 

I'm only comparing them because Street Fighter 5 made me quit SF because it was so terrible and it looks like 6 will be just as bad unfortunately. I started playing Tekken for the first time ever with T7 and this trailer makes me excited for 8 even though I'm a beginner. The SF6 footage I've seen so far doesn't make me excited for that game at all.

I just hope they don't dumb down the gameplay like Capcom did with SF after 4. I think the complexity of Tekken is one of its appealing characteristics even though it's frustrating as hell to someone like me trying to learn how to play it.

 

yikes, I feel the exact opposite about sf6 and I quit at the end of 4 beginning of 5 as well.

sf6 has me more exited than anything else right now. I really love the direction its taking with the gameplay, style and sound.

Looks like there's been some misunderstandings with the earlier leaks about Ken's status in Street Fighter 6.

 

Why are they getting uglier and uglier with each game? Everyone looked terrible in 5 and even worse in 6 lol.

 

I really like the art direction, especially with ken. he looks like the natural progression after 3s.
his gi belt tied as an armband is a really nice touch too.

 

I just am amused at the meta reference to arcades in the battle hub

 

Forget the actual fighting for a second…
It gives me chills of nostalgia seeing the current takes on older stages. Near the beginning of the trailer I saw what looks like the waterfront (Ken & Charlie stage) from SF Alpha and Sodom’s semi trailer from (I think) SFA3. Then later on a 3D Blanka stage from SF2, complete with tree and snake. I love that fanwanky shit  

 

it's not just a meta reference, the vid states they will be PLAYABLE. to what extent and which games, they said will be a surprise, but for the first time we will be able to play older capcom fighters INSIDE a capcom fighter.

Seriously feels like it was just yesterday when I was a kid @ my local arcade playing Tekken 1 and on PS.

EDiT: Just came across this and it's amazing. Another walk down memory lane,Amazing editing.

 

They don't look bad, but aren't kim and a few others getting solo releases after this? I kind of checked out when they just reskinned and buffed the orochi team.

 

Hey folks stupid question (I feel so dumb asking lol) but has Mai ever been in Samurai Showdown? Like was there a Cameo or a special scene/secret fight where she appeared? Yes I know Samurai Showdown takes place in Feudal Japan era while Fatal Fury was more modern time.
