It is true that some girls are slightly obessed with Starscream, myself included, but I have to say, I love him, but I don't want to have his babies, but I don't just think he's awesome. So...I didn't vote.

Yep, almost as bad as being labeled a Geewunner just because you hate BW/BM and TFA.

Its worse, actually, since it's based on gender and not on likes or dislikes.

I thought that was only on the joke/legend how female transfans don't exist, obviously the joke/legend is wrong but I just thought that was all it applied to

I'm as serious as dick cancer. That show was nowhere near worth the hype that the fandom blows it up to be. And before you beat me over the head with "Code of Hero" (Great grammatical non-structure btw), allow me to preemptively counter with: a robot rhinoceros farts energon and blows the bad guys out a wall.

And to Moony: all stereotyping is bad, regardless of the source material

    It made me giggle.

Welcome to my life. I get crap for hating TFA as well, but more so for not liking BW.

Back on topic. Now stereotypes notwithstanding, I'm just glad the boards don't behave like they used to.

Fem: Hello fellow geeks on geek board
    Board: Who are you?
    Fem: A girl.
Server crashes from the sheer number of passes made to said female's PM box.

Actually, I'm the Starscream fanboy while the missus is the Skywarp/Thundercracker fangirl. XD She's also the Shockwave, Blitzwing (TFA version), and Knockout cheerleader too, while I enjoy Megatron a bit more than she does. We both like Barricade and Soundwave to equal degrees. I'd say Knockout is the "new Starscream" these days with his "yaoi pretty boy" -- er, bot -- tendencies, lol.

Hey, you're right. Two and a half decades into the fandom and they've finally acknowledged that we exist! Whaddaya know, there's a silver lining behind every cloud. :drunk

All stereotyping is bad, that's true. BUT, stereotyping on gender or race etc is worse, because you don't have any control over those things. You choose to have an opinion about a cartoon, but demographic traits are something you didn't choose and have no control over. You have power to decide what you think or do, but you have no power to decide what you ARE. (Technically, you can try to change your gender, but it involves major surgery that doesn't actually work. I know a transman* in RL, so I know some of the nitty-gritty details...currently, there's no way to 100% change your body to the opposite sex.)

*See why I don't like the term "Transfan"? :lol

*sigh* No, honey. I've been here since G1, and I'm definitely not the only one. There were multiple women (some of them really well known, though not necessarily for good reasons... ) on ATT back when TF fandom was just beginning. There has never been a point in the franchise when there weren't female fans. The movies have definitely opened up the franchise, but some girls have always been around. (In b4 "I know a girl in RL who started with the movies therefore that somehow magically proves that ALL girls did")

You don't need to lecture me on stereotypes. I'm a soldier, I'm of Slavic origin raised in the 80's in the U.S., not to mention that as a man I'm predestined to try to pipe anything with more than one X chromosome, and obsess over sports, porn, fast vehicles and subjugating women, none of which is true. Ladies, you don't have the market cornered on discrimination and stereotyping.

    Well said, Greyley!
I've been a fan since G1, too, tho not always in the fandom...and other than clips, I still haven't seen the movies. So what must I be according to such a silly idea? :lol  :lol  :lol

We're well aware of the history of geek girls on geek boards - most of us have outright experienced it and STILL do, especially those of us who are older and make a point of communicating and looking out for the younger members.

Speaking of which, how long do you think it'd take for me to convince people on here that I'm actually a guy with this type of banter? Like, hypothetically speaking.
