Several episodes have already aired, I've tried to watch, but didn't keep me interested. :(

I looked for a thread when the pilot aired, not like somebody to NOT have posted a thread, so I was surprised one didn't come up b4 as well... I hung in there for a couple of eps, then I thought I posted (in the non-existent thread apparently) that I like my devil's who are a bit more fun, like Lucifer, not so doggie downer like this one. :D

This series did start out kind of slow, but it has gotten better and better with each episode. This last one was fantastic. The girl that plays Casey is really good.

You know I tried watching the first episode, but the slow burn kind of turned me off. Seeing as it's available on Hulu is it worth picking back up? Better question: does the show itself pick back up?

...The slow burn format of the episodes well the first 5 anyway has been worth it in focusing on the Rance family and the 2 priests even "The Salesman". The bombshell reveal at the end of the 5th hour puts the entire viewing of the show in a different perspective. Whatever is going to happen in the last five better amazing.

Dang, that last ten minutes was good.

Can anyone tell me what actually happened when all those people were sitting around the table and the the priest opened up the urn with the ashes in it?

Maybe it's just me, but Geena Davis' acting was really bad in this episode.

The first seven hours of controlled buildup with The Friers of Ascension Society and the possession have led to the final 3 hours of the season. The 8th episode is a standard 1 hour episode but the finale 1x09 @1x10 appears to be a 2 hour finale.

It was a summoning Ceremony. The ashes were of the people killed at the start of the season .Human organs are used to summon demons that would go into the the body of those who welcomed its pressence.

I don't know the details, I just know what she told me. Maybe it was the name bomb she was talking about.

I was very skeptical about this show, but it has only gotten better as it's gone along.

The Showrunners and writers played with 40 years of unwritten history that never existed beyond the ending of the William Peter Blatty novel and its worked flawlessly. Chris McNeil post Georgetown , DC turned from a loving supportive mother to someone who crossed lines she shouldn't have crossed to support herself and her daughter ie trying to make a buck off of her
daughter's trauma. Regan however became so paranoid by the thought that it would find her again as a result of what her mother did that she ran off and changed her name and created a whole new life for herself in Chicago and for a period Damien Karras sacrifice gave her time enough for a normal life until ...

I love how the last ten minutes or so of every episode is awesome. It just gets me pumped up for the next episode, which by the way looks fantastic. Shit's about to get real.....not that it hasn't been already.

Here are the press releases for Exorcist 1x09 and Exorcist 1x10

    The Exorcist - Episode 1.09 - 162 - Press Release
The Exorcist - Episode 1.10 - Three Rooms (Season Finale) - Press Release

I would very much like their to be more than one season for the Exorcist The Showrunners have been surgical in how carefully and slowly paced they unfolded this : psychological/supernatural horror/drama. And as someone who had gotten tired of Supernatural horror titles because of the jump scare formula rather than the old school build up to scaring the crap out of you I'm glad the series falls into the later category. That and this show should be used as a PRIME Example of how to do a proper sequel to a franchise horror or not.
