The Egyptian Pyramids, so far lasted 4500 years. Perfectly geometric, but in 70 years thats one block placed every 2 mins. They say the stones are made of materials not found in Egypt, are they connected to the monuments on Mars?. Man made? Alien? or something else? They are truly fascinating. Discuss.
Transformers built them. 8D But anyway, I think it's one of those unanswered questions like foo fighters and Sasquatch. -obviously- We may never know... but I'll say 'magic'.
How did they move such massive, massive stones so quickly? Massive, massive whips moving very quickly.
Whips man! Massive, massive whips! ^^^^^ Oh you punk. Beaten. But seriously, the pyramids were a giant public works project, not unlike the hoover dam (maybe they hid a TF in there too). With enough people, 2 blocks a minute isn't that hard, especially when you could have people working on multiple parts of the pyramid at once. The egyptians were pretty smart guys, and their knowledge of geometry, mathematics, astronomy, and engineering are not things to be underestimated.
i personally believe that aliens made them as signs for us today. and its weird, rotf has to do with the pyramids i believe, and they are alien/robots
Exactly. People today seem to imagine that everyone in history was a knuckle dragging mouth-breather before the Enlightenment. It's just plain wrong.
Did they ever open the queens chamber? Some say the answers to everything may be sealed up in that tomb. The mysteries of them are very fascinating
Anyone else think all the "aliens did it!" theories are an insult to human ingenuity or is it just me?
Aren't the pyramids mostly made of limestone? I recall reading that they had quarries all along the Nile. I think it was Stonehenge that had certain rocks that weren't originally from anywhere near the site. If a typical pyramid did take 70 years (I've seen estimates ranging from 10 to 100), even the largest ones have about 2 million blocks, which works out to something closer to one placed every 6 minutes (assuming 8 hour workdays... and they probably worked more than that). Still impressive, but not impossible when you've got literally tens of thousands of people on the job. The pyramids differ from the monuments on Mars in several key ways, chief among them being the fact that the pyramids exist.
Didn't you see the documentary that was out in theaters a while back? They were built by woolly mammoths and cave-men with perfect white teeth who were harvested from the snow-capped mountains that were right next to Egypt. Clearly. As a side note, 10,000 BC made me want to vomit.
Have you ever noticed all these 'Aliens must have helped build them!' theories are mostly constrained to non-European sights? IMO, there's a rather unsettling amount of 'OBVIOUSLY the natives couldnt have done it themselves' sentiment in a lot of those Ancient Astronaut theories. People in the past werent stupid. They lacked the technological advances we have now, but they certainly knew how to get things done. Also, never underestimate the power of force of numbers.
