Are there pics of the alt modes? I'm curious what dinos they were supposed to be...

The two in the left-middle are pterosaurs, but the others are anyone's guess.
Does that one on the left have four arms?
What in the world would his alt mode have been?

My guess, from left to right:

Snarl (aka Slag), Swoop, Swoop, Grimlock, basic body idea.

Interestingly, Slag is not shown on the concept art. I wonder if, in early development, Hasbro didn't know who they'd necessarily use beyond Grimlock. After all, they were apparently asking artists for different interpretations of all Dinobots.

If you read the descriptions, he tells you some of their names, but he doesn't tell us who's who.

    My guesses:

#1 is Sludge, the apatosaurus. I say so because he says Sludge has 4 arms. I have no idea how it could turn into an apatosaurus (or any dino), but eh, I didn't think it was possible to make a gun-former that actually has a half-decent robot mode either.

#2 could be Slag, the triceratops. I say this because none of the others look like they could be Slag, and he seems to have at least one spike on his backside.

    #3 is obviously Swoop.

#4 is Grimlock. I don't see much T-Rex in that design, but the Rex forearms on the chest give it away.

#5 could be Snarl, the stegosaurus, by process of elimination alone. Doesn't really look transformable, but those shoulder plates could be his dino-back plates.

I gotta say, I like the details that have gone in these designs, though I like the actual Animated designs a bit more. But that Grimlock has potential for a possible liveaction design...

I think it's a given who's who buy the order in which he names them, i.e., #1 Sludge, #2&3 Swoop, #4 Grimlock and #5 Snarl.

Even though that Grimlock and Swoops are cool, I'm glad we didn't get them and got these (current designs) instead.

Nah, he's def. going L to R in the name rundown, and I'd bet #'s 2+3 are both Swoop with variations.

edit - and hey, I got a news credit for this?

edit 2 - I emailed Sean and this is what he said about the line-up:

    So there ya go.

I really like the designs except for the last one. The same styling is shown on all of them giving off a very united team feel. Probably too much detail for the show but hell I would prefer it. The current in show designs don't look powerful or menacing kinda more so cute. Also the alien robot look is pretty dang awesome. How I would have liked to seen these implemented is having them as Decepticon bodies and the current designs as the Autobot forms.

    Oh well

Interesting! Here's hoping we await the arrival of Sludge and Stegosaurus Snarl soon if they're introduced!

I like these designs better than the one we got! They have kind of a medievel feel to them. Like they are suppose to look like knights or something. I also dig their uniformity. Oh well, at least we have dinos on the crappy show anyway.

While these are cool. I honestly think they nailed the 3 we have right now in both forms...
