It was common to find other brands of current Transformers figures at flea markets when they first gained popularity in the 1980s. They were then assumed to be knockoffs, but I wonder how many kids had legitimate pre-Tranformers releases of figures they thought were KOs. My cousin had a Cassette Man that we regarded as such but I now realize may have just preceded Soundwave. He also had a non-Hasbro Starscream, but it didn't include a pilot so maybe it was a KO?
Wasn't sure where to post this, hopefully this is the appropriate thread. I just found it really funny (plastic couch cover ) and kinda cool, so I wanted to share. Madonna rocking a Kronoform - Transformers Wiki watch (Micro Change Watch Robo, also Autobot (G2) - Transformers Wiki ?) for a photo shoot promoting 'Like a Virgin' in Tokyo, Japan 1985. Oh the things you discover when looking up things completely unrelated to what you end up finding... Thanks internet! EDIT: I just realized I'm gonna have 'Like a Virgin" stuck in my head for the rest of the day...
That is FANTASTIC!! I just checked out an online article on it and it says she came to the shoot wearing her own gear! Had to tweet about this just now, it's too cool All the best Maz
Hahaha! Thanks for tweeting about it! (not a twitter user myself). Loving the reactions it's getting, it was such a random find! Had to check out the article, it was interesting to read about the photographer and their meeting. It was also cool to learn I found something pre-transformers related that you didn't know about, lol! So, achievement unlocked!(?) I guess
This makes me wonder if there's some similar thread on a jewelry forum talking about her necklaces and totally overlooking the watch.
Amazing story really, and I checked out the art book as well....price and availability are in diaclone territory! All the best Maz
Bump.... Someone please post the Diaclone Deco figures from the WFC/Legacy lines. Or is this thread just for the old Diaclone line?
Shot in the dark here..I am trying to figure out what this is..I thought Diaclone dia-attacker or Attakon? Anyone know?
will be a lot better once the Velocitron line and DK-3 come out. here's the whole crew I have on my desk at work, not all Diaclone, but "of a piece" with that vibe. I've got United Stepper on my desk at home, he should be here with Artfire. Can't wait to have Hauler to bookend the back row.
Found it in a lot that contained an almost complete Optimus Prime, Grimlock, and Starscream body. Got the lot for €22... I see it has 3 foot missiles... And the legs are all connected... Waiting for it to arrive.. But I saw this one, the Diaclone and thought it was something special even though I did not know what it was.
I asked, because if you were local to me, I'd wonder if that was the copy my Grandma tossed out. It sure looks like the condition it would be in now.
If you are from Belgium then it could be That is where the lot came from. Looks like all of them were in some box in a dusty attic or basement
Seeing how this is a diaclone line why not post these here. Clampdown and Deepcover are best Lambros. I am loving all these diaclone repaints. I’ll post a photo of my shelf when it gets updated.
So I found out it is a weird KO... The black and purple one talked about in the article above. Found only 1 item on ebay... Called attackbot. Found a couple random mentions on french websites.. Can't wait for it to get here.. It was part of a lot which contains and almost complete G1 Optimus Prime and trailer + a G1 Grimlock + G1 Starscream body and tail fins.... Got the lot for €22 + shipping.. So no problem if it is attackbot.. These are Fotos of the KO from the ebay listing.. It is cool too.
So I got my attackbot Diaclone Dia attacker KO just a few days ago and after cleaning it up.. It is pretty damn cool... Before. After. Now I need to get the real one...
