Seeing as how everyone seems to be in a fervor over it being the Quintessons, I decided to point out another possible species of Creators.

 

A good possibility that I had considered as well, but the title acts like you know for a fact it's the Vok.

 

They didn't look like energy beings to me...

 

Ok, by the Vok are pure energy beings. So yeah I don't think that's the case here. The ships were clearly meant to look Quintesson-like too.

 

The tube that extended from the ship to collect the transformium looked allot like a Quintesson limb as well. And the idea that individual Quintessons can possibly take random transformium and create things on the spot just jumped into my head.

 

I think after four movies we should have all learned that looks mean little to nothing. They can look like the quints and still be called the Vok.

 

Oh shit I'd actually be okay with this.

They were in Beast Wars IIRC.

 

I'm still convinced its the Quintessons and it will be the Quintessons for me until it is disproven!

They created the Transformers like the Quintessons, messed around with prehistoric Earth like the Vok, and have a similar MO to the Keepers. So basically, anything goes. I don't expect them to be 100% faithful to any existing non-Transformers alien species. Maybe they'll go with Quintessons for the G1 homage, but they might just change it if they consider that too "silly" or not snappy enough, like how the Mcguffin of movie 1 was based off the Matrix but named after the Allspark, so they might just think the Vok works better as a name. Maybe it'll just be "The Creators".

 

It could easily be both the Quints and the Vok for all I know.
