All this fuss wouldn't be necessary if people just realized the Holy Trilogy is the only worthwhile entry in this mess.

 

"SPUMC", eh?

Boy oh boy do I have a good feeling that this is gonna be used in every way EXCEPT the one they want. I mean, how could anyone everrrrr take an acronym word like "SPUMC" and turn it into something derogatory?

This will be good. So good.

 

Mending the words of IDW's Sentinel Prime: "I can't wait to see them burn it all down."

Anyway, I recently had a thought.

If, for any reason, things go sideways with Jared Leto a la the Terrence Howard situation Marvel had years back, and keeping in mind that Jared Leto is already regarded in some circles as being a particularly creepy scumbag, who would you guys want as a soft-rebooted Morbius in case Leto winds up being too much of a PR nightmare?

Moreover, if Sony ends up canning the SPUMC to soft-reboot the Spider-Man characters so there's no segregation between Spider-Man and the bad guys getting movies and they PROPER appearances in the MCU via the Spider-Man movies, would they fight to keep Tom Hardy as Venom or just say "screw it" and haggle with Marvel to recast the role?

I ask because binge-watching Community on Netflix has me thinking Joel McHale could make a great Eddie Brock if Marvel wants to bring in a more comic book-accurate jerkass Eddie into the MCU...

Hey, remember how Jackpot was supposed to be getting a movie? That's still happening, now with Marc Guggenheim!

Who is Jackpot?

 

Jackpot is a super-obscure superhero that a lot of people thought was Mary Jane Watson, but it turned out to be a fake-out, with her actually being someone named Sara Ehret. Her powers are super-strength...and that's it.

I thought she had luck-based powers like Domino, but it doesn't look like she does...?

 

When your as desperate as Sony, you'll make a movie on a character like... I dunno. Shocker?But, Shocker is atleast an interesting character who know he has flaws. Which is why he's one of my favorite Spider-Man villains, and I wish he could get a redemption arc.
Jackpot looks like what happens when you throw Rouge, Jean Grey, Jewel (Jessica Jones), into a blender. Based off her costume and powers.

 

Just ignore that aspect of her character, just like how Marvel did with Wanda and Pietro, though maybe as part of their new agreenment with Marvel they could allow them to keep her as a mutant

 

She's named Jackpot because she thought getting powers would be awesome. She learns otherwise, but it's too late for her to back out.

Her bio is okay enough for a stand-alone superhero film: a superhero single mom who tries to balance her professional and personal life. In that regard, it sounds feasible.

 

Wow... Jackpot movie? Digging deep but there's no oil or gold there Sony.  

 

Will this be part of MCU in any fashion? Will we see characters cross over?

 

Probably gonna do the same thing with Shriek.

I do wanna see symbiotes introduced to the MCU, and if they do introduce Deadpool, I'd love for a third way crossover between Spider-Man, Venom and Deadpool working together to fight Carnage, due to them all having ties to Carnage.

 

We dont know for certain yet, though the Morbius trailer does seem to imply it is.
