and this is why that theory or rumor or whatever makes no sense. the arc reactor is man made. it's based on existing technology. everyone knew what it was and what it did. if it was secretly an infinity stone then how the hell does tony build a small one? you can't just build something that was born from the universe. they built off power of the space stone but they had no idea what it was or where it came from. having it be the arc reactor makes no sense to me.

Yeah, I never understood where that theory came from either. Tony literally built the first (portable) arc reactor in a cave, from a box of scraps. There's nothing cosmic about it or the technology it uses at all.

It's possible that arc reactor could had
Funny, there's a scene from iron man 2 where tony read a old book from he's father and one of his sketch is a cube.

I don’t doubt that movie is coming. Super excited. But I’m glad it says Phase 6, because I’ve also seen stupid clickbait rumors occasionally that it’s coming ~VeRy SoOn!!~
In order to do if correctly, it shouldn’t be coming for 7-8+ years

I'm also ready to move beyond the Infinity Stones. There's a reason the last couple of Avenger films are known as the end of this whole Infinity Saga group of films. Marvel Comics has many more massive plots and McGuffins that can easily take the next spotlight.

They could use the Akhenaten plot.

"Marvel: The End"? I could see elements of it being used somewhere.

again....no possible way. how would tony have built and smaller version in a cave out of scraps if the original reactor was created using the tesseract? without the tesseract to give it initial power tony couldn't have built the smaller one.

if the technology can be recreated without the tesseract it wasn't created with it in the first place. you can't just create and recreate tech that's powered by magical cosmic energy without magical cosmic energy.

Wouldn’t expect any until end of Phase 5. They need time.

Correct. They need to weave them into the MCU properly so it makes sense. I’m perfectly fine with waiting, we have plenty of cool stuff for Phases 4 and 5 anyway

Like @optimusmegas said, that's because his father had studied the tesseract. But the arc reactor is still entirely human built, Earth based technology. It does not draw power from an Infinity Stone, like the tesseract does. Don't forget, IM2 also established the arc reactor is powered by a palladium core, which is a real metal found on Earth, and then Tony synthesizes a new element his father had theorized would be more stable for the reactor because the palladium was poisoning him. There's nothing cosmic about the arc reactor.

I figure that's because staff had to actually touch Tony to affect him. The arc reactor acted as simply an inanimate barrier between the staff and Tony.
