So looks like no more Black Adam either...at least during the first chapter of the new NuDCEU.

...And just like that FLASHPOINT is sweeping across the DCEU rewriting the history of the DCEU for a new audience.

 

I was just thinking about how this is just like how they did us after The Last Knight. We were almost there, and then they just killed it all. Well IMO, the DCEU was better than any Transformers sequels, so I’m a lot more angry now. And just like Bumblebee and Rise Of The Beasts, I really don’t have any interest in this rebooted stuff(that really isn’t any better than before) that they’re about to try.

 

Shazam I think could be safe. But even before the reboot, I figured he was done with how Black Adam did.

 

So, yeah, I'm pretty sure nothing currently in production or being released is going to stick around. Feels clear at this point that they're going to reboot the whole thing. Honestly? I know this most likely won't be a popular opinion for some of you on here but it's probably for the best. The previous DCEU was a fucking mess with terrible to just mediocre films on average with a small handful of gems. There's not much worth salvaging and at that point, you're better off starting fresh. It sucks to lose some of the actors because I thought they were pretty good in their roles despite how awful I found many of the films.

 

Blue Beetle has the chance to stick but everything else coming out yeah is gone probably. But overall I'm very curious to see what might stick.

IDK what the popular opinion 100% is but as a DCEU fan and a Snyder DC fan (I really like what he was doing) this is the best choice of action. It sucks that this has to happen but it's the right choice.

 

Exactly how I feel about it. I'm thrilled it's all getting a reboot and I look forward to what's next.

 

What I think they need to do next, personally, is more standalone films, instead of trying to ape the MCU. I do want a Justice League film free of the baggage of the DCEU, but at the same time standalone movies may do these characters more justice than trying to shove them all into a shared universe. Though I wouldn't be opposed to a Crisis On Infinite Earths that brings them all together to face the Anti-Monitor, but I don't know if that would really be as cool as it sounds in my head.

 

In light of all these events… I’m just gonna pop my blu ray of the (there is no) Snyder Cut into the machine and enjoy.

Maybe even partake in the 3D Man of Steel… perhaps even the 3D BvS if I get desperate enough. Heck, I just re-watched The Batman the other night. May even partake in Joker.

Im content with what we got.

 

And thats probably what they want to do.

 

Watching James Gunn flounder about because an unpopular decision he made is causing some blowback is pretty amusing. Can't say I feel too bad about Black Adam 2 being canceled when the first one was so mid but uhh... The Rock’s obsession with Black Adam fighting Superman but refusing to crossover with Shazam is really odd.

I'm still curious to see how his movie turns out but as I said before: he better have someone great in mind if he was gonna boot someone who fought pretty hard to portray the character. Because if he removed a peak choice to play Superman and his replacement is ass then there's gonna be words. :^)

Now I wish they'd just cancel that Flash movie.

 

I enjoyed BA but it wasn't anything special or even good tbh so I'm not surprised by him not continuing with how the film both did (apparently they had a 20 day reshoots raising the budget to $260 million or so after poor test screenings) and I don't see him playing ball in Gunns plans.

I'm sure he does or will.

That's probably not gonna happen at this point.

 

They are probably going to use the flash movie to erase the current universe so they can start a new one.

 

That is probably the main reason, along with its apparently got great test screening scores and also how much it costs.

He did say he wants Ben Affleck to direct one of his projects. Maybe they'll use the original Batman script and rework it to this one.

 

That’s what someone suggested and I think that is very possible considering how good that script was apparently. They might take it and retool it a little for there new universe.

 

How is he floundering about? He's seemed to have a pretty solid hold on everything so far
